Mexico City has a very beautiful, old world, romantic, vibrant atmosphere, especially where the venue is located. It is also a 2 hour direct flight from DFW, which is where many of our guests will be traveling from.
A large amount of our guests would already have to travel from out of state, we wanted to instead share this special day somewhere outside of Dallas. We also acknowledge so many people in our circle enjoy traveling, so our hope is to share this experience in a city they have never been. We look forward to sharing this day with our loved ones in a beautiful location.
Yes, Mexico City has so much respect for foreigners. The area where we are staying is in the heart of tourism, a very multicultural area. Our venue is located in Mexico City's Historic Center, an area that has a significant security presence because it sits near major national landmarks. Just steps away is the National Palace, where the President of Mexico maintains official offices, and the Zocalo, the city's main public square. Because of the government buildings and historic sites in this area, security and police presence are typically higher than in many other parts of the city.
Our wedding will be held at Seminario 12 in the city's historic center of Mexico City, located in the city's Museum District near the Metropolitan Cathedral and Zocalo. This area is rich in history, culture, beautiful architecture, and is within walking distance of many museums and landmarks.
We love your little ones, but this is an adult only event. We hope this gives everyone the chance to relax and enjoy a special evening with us. Thank you for understanding!
Most of our guests will be staying at Zocalo Central Hotel, Hotel Catedral, Hotel Historico Central and Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico. These are popular hotels known for their great restaurants, walkability, and beautiful streets. These hotels are a short walk from the venue, Seminario 12. Feel free to stay where you feel most comfortable.
The weather is typically mild and pleasant, with daytime temperatures around 70-72 degrees and cooler evenings that can drop to 45-50 degrees. Rain is uncommon during this time of year, but evenings can feel cool due the to the city's altitude, guests may want to bring a light jacket or layer.
The attire for our wedding is formal. We encourage guests to dress elegantly for the occasion, suits or jackets for men and formal dresses or evening wear for women.
The ceremony will be held indoors at Seminario 12. This historic venue provides a beautiful indoor setting in the heart of Mexico City's Museum District.
Mexico City International Airport (AICM) is approximately 5.5 miles from the wedding venue, Seminario 12. Depending on traffic, the drive usually takes about 20-35 minutes.
The easiest way to get around Mexico City is by using Uber. It is widely available, reliable, and generally inexpensive throughout the city. We recommend avoiding street taxis and instead using Uber or taxis arranged through your hotel for the most convenient transportation.
