The first time we crossed paths was during freshman orientation at CNU. At the time, we were incoming freshman preparing to start our collegiate journeys on the CNU soccer teams. So in true athletic style, we found some time during our orientation to scrimmage with other incoming soccer players. Neither of us knew that we would be looking back on that day as the start of our story! Moving forward, we were acquaintances for most of the time we spent at CNU. While we often crossed paths or ended up at the same gatherings due to our ties to the soccer teams, it wasn't until summer going into senior year that we started becoming closer friends. While we would like to think that one of us would've eventually worked up the courage to start things off, we can't take all the credit for our new found friendship at the time. One of our mutual friends confidently walked over to Zach one evening and asked the classic question "Are you single and ready to mingle?". His answer was a tentative "Depends on who's asking," and from there, everything fell into place. Slowly but surely we became closer and closer, but it wasn't until midway through senior year, and a formal or two later, that we started dating! Now, 6 years and one dog later, we are looking forward to marrying in March of 2024 and officially becoming the Douglasses.
