Wade and Danielle met in January 2020 at Purdue as Wade was nearing graduation and Danielle was about to turn 21. Their first date was at the on campus Mexican restaurant, "La Ha" where they sipped margaritas and talked sports. They made the most of their time together at Harry's (this is where the nickname "Diesel" was started), and then Wade graduated and moved to Evansville to start his job. With that, Danielle ended up spending the majority of the summer down in Evansville where their relationship bloomed. After a spontaneous trip to Alabama for a concert and then a week spent at the Vanderburgh County Fair, drinking beer and hanging out with Wade's family, they were basically inseparable. As Danielle finished at Purdue and then went onto grad school, they took turns traveling every weekend to see each other. Upon graduation, Danielle moved down to Evansville and a few months later Wade proposed in Falls of Rough, Kentucky while the two were on a weekend trip.
