We met the summer of 2008 in "Intro to Financial Management", a summer school class we were both taking at Iowa (no need to get into who got the better grade). While we never dated until November 2017 (Yes! 9+ years later!), this meeting started an ongoing friendship. We ended up enrolling in some of the same business school classes, hanging out in Miami for the 2010 Orange Bowl, sitting next to each other at undergrad graduation in 2010, attending my Ernst & Young holiday party together in 2013, and finally, my invitation for him to come to my 30th birthday party kicked off a pretty amazing few years. He is the one I never let get away!

On Saturday, August 10th, the day before my birthday, we drove out to Starved Rock for some Illinois-style hiking! We decided we were going to do the entire length of the trail (five miles one-way) to see the waterfalls on the far east end. We finally made it and I started snapping some pictures of the beautiful scenery. I turned around and James was patiently waiting to present me with a letter...the sweetest letter I have ever read. When I was finished reading, James got down on one knee, and I said "YES" to the easiest question I've ever been asked - and we were engaged!

As we weren't able to celebrate with all of you in 2020, we were planning on having a 1-Year Celebration on December 4th, 2021. That had to be put on hold again as we welcomed our sweet son, Dominic, on November 19th, 2021. We hope that we will FINALLY be able to celebrate the many milestones we have reached over the past two years, with each of you, on April 23, 2022! See you in Chicago!
