We matched on January 26, 2016. We didn't discuss "small talk" details about our jobs but rather shared stories of first pets named Tutti and adventures we had taken. She made me laugh so hard via text I missed my train stop. She had told me the night we had began talking that she couldn't meet up for another week which made me laugh, no tinder discussions last that long. On the 3rd day of banter, at 11:30pm on my way home from a play, she invited me for coffee by her job. I contemplated for a VERY long time whether to get off the subway or keep it calm and classy and meet for an official date. I got off the subway, walked halfway to my apartment... and then decided... ah, who am I kidding... I finally reached her at Lenox Hill at 12:30am. She was standing in her scrubs and clogs and oversized green jacket on the corner of 77th and Lex. She was more beautiful than any photo could capture. She got a coffee and I got a hot chocolate. I was her first tinder date, which made her incredibly nervous. She told me all the gritty, funny details of her life that I think you usually learn date 5 or 6. I was smitten, completely in awe of her humor, genuine love for life, her curiosity, the way she experienced the world. A month into dating, she surprised me with a ticket to Colombia where I met all of her best friends. We adventured through caves, horseback rode for my first time and repelled down a mountain into a waterfall (with a bike helmet). She had ignited this adventurous side of myself I did not know existed. We moved in together 6 months into the relationship and didn't even really discuss the details. It was just obvious that we wanted to build a home and life together. On our third year anniversary from our swiping right she asked me to marry her in the middle of Central Park. I literally had NO idea she was going to propose. It was magical. She is magical.
