Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

We recommend using the QR code on your invitation to RSVP online. When you navigate to the RSVP page, search for your name and complete the prompts for your invitation. You'll only be able to RSVP for yourself and the specific guests in your party, and you'll select individual meal choices for each person. If you experience any issues with the online system, you can alternatively mail back the RSVP card included in your invitation suite. Please note our RSVP deadline is May 9th, regardless of your chosen method of response. We kindly ask that you reply promptly. Should your plans change after submitting your RSVP, please inform us as soon as possible. Keep in mind that we finalize meal selections and guest counts with our caterer in advance, so last-minute changes will not be possible, and RSVPs received after the deadline may not be accepted.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We kindly request your RSVP by May 9, 2026. Your timely response will help us prepare for a wonderful celebration.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony and reception will be adults-only celebrations. Attendance is limited to the individuals listed on your invitation. We kindly ask for your understanding that no exceptions can be made.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation specifically includes "and guest," you're welcome to bring a date. Otherwise, the invitation is for the named individual(s) only. We appreciate your understanding as we plan our wedding celebration.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our wedding venues inspire an elegant atmosphere that calls for semi-formal to cocktail attire. Feel free to wear a dressy evening look, but there's no need to buy something new. Choose an outfit that makes you feel confident and ready to celebrate! Cocktail dresses, midi, or knee-length dresses, and suits with ties are perfect for our evening celebration. We kindly request that guests avoid denim, white shades, and overly casual items like flip-flops or sneakers.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM sharp. Guests are kindly asked to arrive by 4:30 PM to ensure ample time for parking and seating before the doors close. Out of respect for the ceremony, late entry will not be permitted once the chapel doors are closed shortly before the ceremony commences.

Question

What time does the reception end?

Answer

The reception will conclude at 11:00 PM.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

For those traveling from out of town, we recommend the Residence Inn Pittsburgh Oakland/University Place, the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh University Place, or the Courtyard by Marriott Pittsburgh University Center. All are located near Heinz Chapel and Soldiers & Sailors, making them convenient options for the wedding weekend. Room blocks are accessible via link on the travel page. 15 rooms are offered at the Residence Inn Pittsburgh Oakland/University Place and 15 rooms are offered at the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh University Place. Rooms are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. The blocks are open until May 12 or until they fill up.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We will not be providing transportation to or from the ceremony and reception. Fortunately, all of our recommended hotels are very close to both Heinz Chapel and Soldiers & Sailors. With everything located in Oakland, getting to the wedding should be quick and easy whether you choose to walk, drive, or use a rideshare.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Each of the recommended hotels offers parking for their guests, either on-site or through valet service. For anyone not staying at a hotel, the Soldiers & Sailors Parking Garage is available at 4390 Bigelow Boulevard, directly beneath the front lawn of Soldiers & Sailors, and just steps from the reception venue. Limited street parking is also available in the surrounding areas.

Question

What’s for dinner?

Answer

We'll be celebrating with a full plated dinner service. Cocktail hour will feature passed hors d'oeuvres and appetizer displays, followed by a salad course once everyone is seated. Guests will then enjoy their selected entrée, served with sides, and the dinner service will finish with dessert, coffee, and tea. When you RSVP through our Zola site, you'll be asked to select your entrée choice so our caterer can prepare accordingly. Please make your selection at that time, as late changes will not be possible.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

If you have a food allergy or dietary restriction, please let us know well in advance. Our caterer is happy to accommodate requests made ahead of time, but because everything is prepared in a shared kitchen, they cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment. Late requests may not be possible, so the sooner we know, the better we can plan for you.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We'll be celebrating with a full open bar throughout the evening.

Question

Will there be a cookie table? Can I bring cookies?

Answer

We'll be having a Pittsburgh-style cookie table, and we'd love for guests to contribute if they'd like. If you plan to bring cookies, please let us know in advance what kind you'll be making so we can keep track and avoid too many duplicates.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors, so no need to worry about the weather.

Question

What should I do between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

There will be a cocktail hour at Soldiers and Sailors immediately following the ceremony at Heinz Chapel. If you are needed for photos during this time, you’ll be informed in advance.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

No. We kindly request that guests remain fully present during our ceremony and refrain from taking photos. Our professional photographer will beautifully capture every moment so you can experience the celebration without the distraction of screens. At the reception, we welcome you to take photos, just please be mindful not to interfere with our photographer's work. For the ceremony, please make sure to silence your cellphones.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are registered through Zola, which you can view under the "Registry" tab on this website. Since we recently bought a home, our biggest wish is for contributions toward our honeymoon and home renovation funds. That said, we know some guests prefer to give something tangible, so we've also included a small selection of gifts we'd love. We are so grateful for your generosity and thoughtfulness. Thank you for helping us start this new chapter together!

Question

Is there an easy way to share photos with the bride and groom?

Answer

We'll be providing a QR code at the reception that will allow you to take, upload, and share your photos with us through the POV app.

Question

What’s the weather like in Pittsburgh in June?

Answer

June in Pittsburgh is typically warm, with average highs in the upper 70s to low 80s during the day and cooler evenings in the 60s. It can sometimes be humid, so plan to dress comfortably for summer weather.

Question

Who can I contact if I have more questions?

Answer

If you have questions before the wedding, we welcome your inquiries. On the wedding day itself, we kindly ask that you do not approach the bride and groom with questions. Our professional day-of coordinators will be available to assist you. We'll provide their contact information closer to the wedding date, ensuring you know exactly who to reach out to if any assistance is needed.

Question

What will the guest book be?

Answer

Instead of a traditional guest book, we will be having a vintage-style audio guest book where guests can pick up the phone and leave us a voicemail. We’re so excited to be able to hear your voices, laughter, and well wishes for years to come.

Question

Can I request songs for the DJ?

Answer

Guests are welcome to request songs! While we can’t guarantee every request will be played, we’d love to know what gets you on the dance floor. You can submit song requests when you RSVP or text them to us ahead of the wedding. Requests given to the DJ at the wedding will not be accepted, as song lists are finalized in advance.
