Mary is so excited to finally be marrying the man of her dreams! In 2018, she graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, she got a job as an elementary music teacher, and she was proposed to! 2019 has a lot to live up to, but she is so excited for this year and what it will bring! Thank you for sharing in this special season of life with us!

Daniel Theisen

Groom

Daniel can’t wait to see his bride walk down the aisle! He has known for a long time that she was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Daniel graduated in May of 2018 from Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Philosophy. He now works as a Program Specialist for a company called Talentwave in Denver, CO.

Samantha Higgins

Maid of Honor

Samantha is Mary's sister, being 2 years younger. The two are absolute best friends and sometimes seemingly share the same brain. They finish each other's sentences and can crack up laughing even when nobody says anything. Samantha and Mary have been through many ups and downs throughout their lives, but now that they are older, they are more bonded together than ever! Mary could not imagine getting married without Samantha and Caitlin being her maids of honor.

Chad DeVore

Best Man

Chad and Daniel have been best friends since they met in Boy Scouts when they were 8 years old. The two have grown up being inseparable, and had the wonderful opportunity to be roommates for 3 years during college and 1 year after college!

Caitlin Brazil

Maid of Honor

Caitlin has been Mary's best friend since the two met in 6th grade band. Caitlin played the clarinet and Mary played the flute. Even though Caitlin moved to Texas only 6 months later, the two have remained best friends since and make anywhere from 2-4 trips a year to see each other! Caitlin and Mary planned since middle school to be each other's maids of honor, and now the time has finally come for Caitlin to fulfill that role alongside Mary's sister, Samantha!

Dan Moore

Dan is one of Daniel’s closest friends from when he was in a fraternity in college, Acacia. They were roommates when they lived in their fraternity house and grew to be very close! Even though Dan now lives in Wichita and Daniel lives in Denver, they make an effort to hang out as much as they can whenever one or the other is able to travel!

Heidi Rose Forland

Bridesmaid

Heidi and Mary met during Mary's sophomore year of college at K-State. It was bid night for Alpha Chi Omega, and Mary was paired up with Heidi to be her "bid day buddy." The two hit it off immediately and ended up becoming sorority big and little! Even though Mary is Heidi's sorority "mom," Heidi has had such a wonderful impact on Mary's life and always gives her the best, most thoughtful advice when she needs it! Mary also can’t wait to be a bridesmaid in Heidi’s wedding on August 3rd!

Dany Miller

Dany and Daniel met in high school and have been great friends ever since! They grew even closer when they both moved to Denver this past year!

Nicole Mills

Bridesmaid

Nicole and Mary met right after Mary went through sorority recruitment at K-State. A mutual friend introduced them, knowing that Mary had pledged the same sorority that Nicole was in. The two found out quickly that they had a lot in common, and Mary was so excited when it was revealed that Nicole would be her sorority big! Nicole serves as a huge role model to Mary, and Mary is so thankful to have her as a friend! Though each of them has changed significantly since they first met, they have somehow always remained the same person! Mary was also so honored to have been a bridesmaid in Nicole’s wedding on June 1st!

Sheldon Wilson

Groomsman

Sheldon and Daniel met while both working in the kitchen at So Long Saloon in Manhattan, KS. They became friends while working there and eventually decided to become roommates as well!

Michelle Reznikova

Bridesmaid

Michelle and Mary were introduced during Mary's senior year of college through their mutual friend, Heidi Forland. At the end of the school year, both Mary and Michelle were looking for roommates for the upcoming school year. Heidi, knowing each of them very well, thought that they might get along and suggested that they meet each other! Long story short, Heidi was right (as she very often is!) and Mary and Michelle moved in together! The two became great friends while being roommates, and both of them very often miss living with each other now that Michelle is in nursing school!

Ryan Manor

Daniel has known Ryan since they were in high school. They know exactly how to push each other’s buttons and it is absolutely hilarious to watch. Ryan and Daniel had the opportunity to be roommates for 2 years during college. Ryan, Daniel, and Chad loved getting to live together and Ryan couldn’t be more excited to watch his friend finally get married!

Christina Plummer

Bridesmaid

Christina is Daniel's sister, being older than him by 2 years. Christina and Daniel are very close, sharing a bond over being the youngest siblings in a large family. After all of the good things Daniel had told Mary about Christina, she could not wait to meet her! The first time Mary met Christina was at Thanksgiving, 4 months after Daniel and Mary's first date. She is a wonderful influence on both Mary and Daniel, and they hope that their marriage will be as successful as Christina's marriage to JP. Mary can't wait to have Christina become her sister-in-law!

Andrew Theisen

Groomsman

Andrew is Daniel’s younger cousin by 2 years. They have always been very close, and Daniel is so excited to have Andrew be a part of the big day!

Reverend Bill Smith

Officiant

Bill has been a friend of Mary's father for over 15 years and is a pastor in Charlotte, North Carolina. Very impressively, he has performed over a hundred ceremonies in his time as a pastor! Daniel and Mary consider Bill and his wife, Lyn, a great example of a Christian marriage to look up to and are thankful for his wisdom and encouragement!

Blackjack

Ring Bearer

Blackjack is an 11 year old toy poodle, weighing in at a very hefty 7 1/2 pounds! Mary's family adopted Blackjack from a family friend in 2007 when he was a puppy. In 2016, Blackjack moved to Manhattan where Mary then became his primary owner. Blackjack and Mary share a very special bond, and Mary cannot imagine the special day without him as a part! Blackjack is also very excited to have Daniel become his official dog dad!

Ryan Higgins

Usher

Ryan is Mary's brother, older by 3 years. He went to college at Texas Christian Univeristy in Fort Worth, TX, where he is currently a high school economics teacher. Ryan also serves as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army National Guard. He is very thankful that Mary and Daniel decided not to get married during football season! Go horned frogs!

JP Plummer

Usher

JP is Daniel's brother-in-law. JP and Daniel's sister, Christina, have been married for just over 2 years! JP recently graduated with his doctorate in Human Factors Psychology. He and Christina are very excited to be relocating to Virginia this summer, where they will be cheering on the Hokies!

Carole Higgins

Mother of the Bride

Carole is so excited to be celebrating Mary and Daniel’s wedding with you all! She has been looking forward to this day since she became a “girl mom” for the first time in 1995. Carole loves God, her friends, her 3 kids, and her husband, Jeff! She and Jeff will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary on July 1st of this year. Mary and Daniel hope that this is a good omen for their marriage!

Jeffrey Higgins

Father of the Bride

Jeff is still having a hard time believing that his daughter is old enough to get married! But he is very much looking forward to this special day. Jeff is a retired Colonel in the U.S. Air Force and now enjoys traveling the world with his job as a pilot for American Airlines. In his spare time, he loves to go hunting and play Fantasy Football (he is a proud league champion!). Jeff is also very excited to be celebrating the marriage of Mary and Daniel just 12 days after he and Carole will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary!
