Independence Pass
This is a beautiful road to drive into Aspen. We recommend a stop in the tiny town of Twin Lakes before setting out over the pass. Enjoy views of Colorado's tallest 14er (Mount Elbert) as you make the drive!
Aspen Mountain Ski Resort
Take the gondola up the famous Ajax mountain in downtown Aspen, and enjoy the breathtaking views!
Avalanche Ranch
Just a short drive from Aspen, relax in private hot springs at the Avalanche Ranch. Be sure to reserve your spot as Avalanche Ranch is popular among the locals.
Aspen Hickory House
A low-key and delicious restaurant option while in Aspen. This restaurant is home to some of the best bbq in the country!
Pine Creek Cookhouse
Pine Creek Cookhouse is a great spot for dining or sightseeing. Follow a mountain road up to the restaurant and spot some of the most beautiful Colorado wildflowers we have ever seen. For those who don't want to dine, there are a multitude of outdoor activities in this area.
Crater Lake
While we will be up at Maroon Bells for our wedding ceremony, for the outdoors types, a hike past the Bells and up to Crater Lake cannot be missed while in Aspen.
Hanging Lake
A beautiful hike on the way to Aspen. Be sure to make a reservation, as space is limited!
Vail
We love the town of Vail in the Summer, and it makes an easy stop on the drive up to Aspen. We recommend renting bikes or strolling through the town and enjoying lunch at Mountain Standard.
Breckenridge
Breckenridge is one of our favorite mountain towns and makes a perfect stop on the drive to Aspen. We recommend a whiskey tasting at the Breckenridge Distillery while there.
The Crown
The Crown is one of our favorite, casual restaurants in Breckenridge. It's a great spot to grab lunch and enjoy the scenery. We recommend sitting on their outdoor patio that overlooks the ski slopes and the river that runs through downtown Breckenridge.
