In this day of age, the act of finding "the one" is a difficult one. In the "olden days" passing a folded note in the shape of a letter, heart, or other creative origami-like figure with "do you want to be my girlfriend, check yes or no" was the thing to do. Meeting through mutual friends was ideal. Meeting someone at a party, bar, or some other crazy alcohol-filled event happened often. Did Daniel and Rina meet any of these ways? NOPE! We decided to be technologically advanced and meet on good ol' TINDER. For those who don't know, Tinder is one of many dating apps where the act of swiping "right" was "hey I think you're cute" or "left" was "just no" (insert eye roll). and why did we use this crazy app? Daniel was a work-a-holic and Rina was too busy moving from state to state. Our first date was at Ra Sushi Bar Restaurant in Chino Hills, California. A quick lunch turned into a 4-hour, "hey I met the love of my life," meal. Daniel impressed Rina by ordering ALL the food, and Rina impressed Daniel by eating ALL the food. Following this wonderful first date, Daniel and Rina talked on the phone (because who even talks on the phone anymore?) every night since then. Daniel introduced Rina to his 10,000 friends and Rina introduced Daniel to her 10,000 family members. Daniel officially asked Rina to be his girlfriend on October 31, following the most romantic date ever, Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. After running around, being chased by clowns, zombies, and supernatural creatures, we knew we wanted to spend forever with each other. We continued our relationship loving all sorts of food (especially dim sum Saturdays), lifting weights (and hiking horrible hills), supporting each other in our careers, and overall pushing each other to become the best version of ourselves.
