Lincoln Park Zoo

Dan’s favorite place in Chicago – our free zoo right in the middle of Lincoln Park. While you’re there, be sure to check out the Japanese Macaques, Rachel and Dan’s favorites.

Chinatown

Wander through Chinatown Square Plaza, a 2-story outdoor mall full of snacks, goodies, and treats. Check out Dan’s favorite, MCCB, for a meal and then stop by Rachel’s favorite, MangoMango, for dessert.

Lakefront Trail

This 18.5-mile path offers some of the best views in the city and is a favorite walk for Rachel and Dan. There are many entrances to the path, some are tunnels that go under Lake Shore Drive. As you go, keep an eye out for the sculptures that decorate the path along the way.

North Pond

Architecture River Tour

If the sun is shining, take a tour with the Chicago Architecture Center to learn about and see the city’s beauty from the Chicago River. Dan took Rachel on this tour during her first trip to Chicago! Not free, but worth it!

Vietnamese soup, a go to for a chilly day. Dan loves the Salt & Pepper Chicken Skins, and they both typically get the Pho Bo (Beef).

Velvet Taco

There are locations of Velvet Taco all around the city. These funky tacos are one of Rachel's favorite quick and delicious meals. She always gets the Chicken and Waffle taco and the Elote and Chips.
