It was March 18th 2021, a cool Thursday night at Gonzaga University. Instead of studying for midterms, Danny and Peyton each decided to go out and meet the loves of their lives. Although this was the outcome of the night, it was not the intended goal. Many words can be used to describe The Star Restaurant and Lounge (Star Bar), but elegant, clean, and safe are none of them. Instead, Star Bar can be characterized by 3 things: $5 Long Island iced teas, karaoke, and Rick. You go to Star Bar to mumble through some karaoke soul music not to meet your soul mate. Unbeknownst to us at the time, we ended up doing both that night. “Love at First Mic” may be a bit of hyperbole, because it wasn't until the 21st night of September that year that we started officially dating (yes, like the song).
