It all started with a simple work email. We both work for Alstar Oilfield Contractors, and when Dan saw Nikki's little email picture, he politely asked the field administrator on his work site to "Hook it up Court!" - Essentially hitting on Nikki through a coworker. Lucky for everyone, she did - and it worked! We met for the first time a week later on our first date, where we enjoyed dinner in the rotating restaurant of the Calgary Tower! Drinking wine, talking about Halloween costumes and the solar system - all while trying to figure out the timing of how long each full restaurant rotation took (NERDS)

The most Magical Place on Earth, INDEED! For Christmas Dan bought Nikki a trip to Disney World! And it was in no way planned to be a relaxing vacation. We went to theme parks 6 out of the 10 days in Florida, and attended an Oilers vs Lightning hockey game.  The BIG day happened on Day 3 - at the Magic Kingdom. Dan booked a photographer to capture the proposal with an engagement shoot to follow - but how would he get Nikki out of those darn denim shorts and Mickey Mouse T-shirt? By lying of course. While researching our trip, Dan found a blog of Do's & Dont's for Disney trip planning. He told Nikki that morning that on the blog, this couple said to "book a photoshoot with Mickey Mouse" - so that's what he did! Therefore, they need to pack a change of clothes. Nikki's response was "Ooooooh I've never met Mickey before! Gotta look good" We met up with the photographer, and almost immediately Dan dropped down on one knee in front of Cinderella's Castle.
