It was an egg sandwich that brought Dan and Lisa together. When Lisa ate the only vegetarian meal to be found on an Army camp, she didn’t realise that Dan too was vegetarian, leaving him to go hungry. The hunger for Dan was worth it though, as it sparked a conversation to discover they had something in common which led to an instant connection.

In the midst of packing up their lives to move to Sydney, it was no surprise Lisa was feeling the stress. Dan made the suggestion to take some time for ourselves and to go on a bushwalk in the beautiful Waitakeres to rejuvenate our souls. We were up for the walk, but 'adventure dog' Squeak took some more convincing, and after Dan carried him all the way to the top of a waterfall, Dan hid his desperate need for a break by offering to take some candid shots of Lisa staring away into the wilderness. When Lisa turned back around, there was Dan on one knee holding up a ring and of course, Lisa said yes!
