An Occupational therapist, Shelby, or "Tobes", spends her time caring for other's and enriching the lives of those lucky enough to work with her. You are sure to find Katie and Shelby lighting up the dance floor from Cocktail hour to last call!
Shane'e Hunter

First meeting on the soccer field almost 20 years ago, fate would be bring Shane'e back into Katie's life, when she captured the heart of her younger brother, Trevor. Proud Mama to one of our adorable ring bearers, Brooks, she is the perfect addition to the Hunter family and a beloved Sister-in-Law. Tracy "Muffin" Ketelsen

After about the 100th, "You and Tracy should really meet, you guys are like the same person", Katie finally had the chance to see what everyone was talking about. Although they had taken similar paths to SDSU and even played on the same soccer team, it wasn't until Tahoe that their friendship solidified. Katie's "charging AZTEC" partner, you are likely to find them crushing a HIIT circuit or the dance floor and then belling up at "Bert's Cafe" (Tracy's delicious local's breakfast spot) to crush just about everything on the menu.... and more

A love for the mountains brought these two "Tahoe transplants" together, and their friendship has grown stronger each and every year. A Georgia Peach, Christina yearned to get her hands on Sierra granite and has been leading + guiding their climbs (and friendship) for over 10 years. Christina is an old + wise soul with a childlike spirit and you can see her essence alive in her little Tennessee "Tennie-girl", who will be our flower girl.
Torrey "Torito" Lovelace

Two + a half feet.... that's how far Tor + Katie slept apart for almost 4 years. They shared everything, as well as a love for the outdoors, similar up-bringings, love for Britney Spears and a very strange "persona" they take on when they start to get weird. A heart of gold matches this radiant blonde's personality... and she can even serenade you en espanol.
Erin "Munchie" McEvoy

It's hard to express the aura that is Erin aka "Munchie". Her jubilant laugh paired with a "take no $hit" type of attitude make her the strongest and softest person you may ever get to meet. She was the first to meet Dan, and gave him the Munchie seal of approval... the only guy in Katie's life that she ever has! Her lil dude, Alder, will also be heading down the aisle before his mom, as one of our adorable ring bearers.

Every major phase, Morgan has been there. From Jr. high awkwardness, High School livin', Dorm-life at SDSU, to college grads trying to find our way in Tahoe. It's unreal to think, but Morgan transcends them all. She isn't the hometown friend or the Tahoe friend, she is all of them. Her essence is her ease, not much gets under her skin, and she is ALWAYS down to have a good time. Challenge her to beer pong or Mario Cart and you will certainly take the "L".
Julianna "JuJu" Ray

Katie + Shelby's Brazilian sister, and a firecracker of a woman, we wouldn't be HERE if it wasn't for JuJu (literally, her husband and her are the property managers of 4-H). If you get her excited she may start speaking to you half in Portuguese and half in some form of English, but without a doubt everything she says is captivating with her accent.... and usually pretty hilarious! Her sweet lil "Maya Papaya" will be spreading flowers down the aisle as one of our flowers girls.
Tanya "T-girl" Reay

Since 7th grade, Tanya "T-girl" has been a rock, a confidant, a stylist + a best friend. Katie grew up playing with the boys, and Tanya taught her how to play in the dirt + still rock a skirt. You'll be hard pressed to find a better soul on this planet than her, as there are few as caring, pure and kind-hearted. You'll find her wiping ketchup from Katie's face, and break-in' it down on the dance floor. Those Guatemalan hips, do not lie!

First week at the dorms, friends for Life! Leela, ah to know her is to love her and to love her makes life so wild! She may be tiny, but this lil lady will leave an impact that you will never forget. From the dorms at SDSU to Machu Picchu and the Amazon, Philippines to Bali, and now San Francisco to Tahoe, Leela is Katie's favorite travel partner and one of her favorite people on the planet. Ask her about her love for cheese and Chevy's.
Cohen, Twain + Ottis Nunes
Ring Bearer
They share a last name, but these boys couldn't be more different. Cohen or "Co-boy" is the wisest, kindest, and first kiddo to make Dan a proud uncle. Find him building something incredible with his legos and reminding you why it is important to put on sunscreen when you are in the mountains. Twain will steal your heart, keep you on your toes and take you down with his Ninja skills. And lil Ottis, time will tell but the youngest of the trio seems to have a mixture of the best qualities that the Nunes blood carries. These boys will be leading the charge with their soon to be cousins, and protecting the rings of their Uncle + Auntie-to-Be.

On the very day we say "I Do", this lil dude will also be celebrating his 3rd Birthday! Alder was just a bump in his mamma's, Erin aka Munchie", tummy when Dan first came on the scene, and seeing Dan's love for Katie's "Nephew" helped seal the deal. The most talkative "Lil Dude" will be strutting his stuff + partying like it's HIS birthday....cause it will be!

If Disney ever needs inspiration for a caring, dirt loving, dress wearing, adventure seeking ballerina for their next fairytale, Tennie-girl can be their muse. The rarest combination of sweetness mixed with mountain toughness, it makes her the absolute perfect flower girl.... there is never a dull moment when you are with Tennie-girl. She is already practicing her flower toss and planning her outfit... this is one sweet spirit you will never forget.
Brooks Hunter

Brooks Douglas Hunter, son of Trevor ( the only boy), son of Stuart (the only boy), you will carry on the Hunter name as I let go of mine. The best qualities of the Hunter name is reflected in you, with every smile, with every gesture and in every moment that you grow. The best gift I have ever received, is when I held you for the first time. We won't share the same last name for long, but we cannot wait to give you and the Nunes Boys, cousins to get in to trouble with. Catch Brooks as he meets all his cousins for the first time, as they protect the rings that we will make our vows upon.

As sweet as a slice of "Maya Papaya", and as independent as they come, this lil cookie is opening up her entire home to us to celebrate our special weekend. Born and being raised to the ripe young age of two, 4H is her backyard + playground, she can show you all the secret spots with her side-kick, Brutus, in tow. This lil mountain girl will be will be trading in her Patagonia puffys for a dress, as one of of precious flowergirls. Oh and ask her if she wants more smoothie.....
Matt Nunes

Older brother who showed Dan the ropes of life. Always taking Dan under his wing, playing on the family ranch rolling rocks down the hill into the creek, taking turns riding the family raised cow (Snickers) while the other one would run carrying a bucket of grain having Snickers chase them to make the ride more fun. Always let Dan go to parties with him in high school making sure that Dan was looked after by Matt's group of rowdy friends. Now in their older years Matt continues to show Dan the ropes by mentoring and guiding him through life. Best of friends, best of brothers.
Sean Bouey

Big Sean and Dan met in junior high where they instantly became best friends. Sean's family welcomed Dan into their live's and home with open arms on a daily basis. Sean always invited Dan to every family event they would have, feeding him and making sure he had blanket on him when he would pass out on Sean's couch. Dan has always had Sean to depend on no matter what. They remain best friends to this day.
Chris Simoni

Chris is a best friend that has been through the many phases of life, and the Simoni's welcomed Dan into their lives and home. Chris and Dan met freshmen year of high school. Chris and Dan were always running around town together in Chris's truck that had so much bass in it, your ear drums would rattle 10 minutes after turning it off. Chris and his wife Rachel asked Dan to ordain them in their wedding and Dan is honored to have Chris be apart of his.
Andrew Sammut

Andrew and Dan met back in 2007 while taking a class together. Andrew mentored and guided Dan while working together at CAL FIRE. Sammut helped Dan join the Alma Helitack Crew where they worked side by side together on the helicopter. Had it not been Sammut, Dan would have never had the opportunity to discover his passion for fighting fire and flying on the copter and better yet, meet the incredible group of guys that would become family. Sammut truly changed Dan's life and for this Dan is grateful to have him continue to stand by his side.
John Viss

JV and Dan met in 2009 when they both got hired with CAL FIRE and worked together at Alma Helitack. Viss along with other members from the Helitack Crew taught Dan how to enjoy every day no matter what comes at you. Viss is one of Dan's go to guys when he needs guidance in life, with his positive outlook and get after life mentality. Viss and Dan keep close since they both left the Helitack base by going out shooting their guns at Dan's family ranch.
Grant Bell

Grant and Dan met at Alma Helitack Base in 2013. Grant was one of the senior guys who helped Dan learn and thrive. Grant guided Dan in the Helitack community teaching him how to manage helicopters for large fires all over the California. Grant has always been someone that Dan looks up to in life and work. Grant is a true brother.
Trevor Hunter

Trevor is Dan's to be Brother-in-law but lets just drop the "in-law" part. Trevor has been so kind and welcoming to Dan since the first day they met. Growing up, Dan always wanted a younger brother and even though Trevor is only a year younger; he is everything Dan could have ever asked for in a brother and as the future Uncle to the Nuneses to come. Kind, caring and giving. I look forward to all of the family hangouts and days on the boat with you.
Martin Madina Ramirez

Martin and Dan met at Alma Helitack in 2013. Martin kept his distance, feeling out Dan to see if the FNG could hold his own on the crew. Within a few fire seasons, these two opposites would become like brothers, causing mischeif at the base, fishing til dark and lobbing deragatory nicknames like they are terms of enderament. "Gordo" is excited to have his Pinche Martin stand beside him.
