The Columbia Gorge is a canyon that runs along the Washington-Oregon border. There are tons of waterfalls and hikes along this scenic 80 mile stretch. Take a day to take a scenic drive, get out and hike to some waterfalls, and have lunch at one of the small towns along the gorge!
Mount Hood is the tallest mountain in Oregon. There are many hiking trails, scenic drives, and viewpoints all around the national forest. Popular stops include Timberline Lodge and Trillium Lake.
The northern Oregon Coast has a lot of public land which allows for so many beautiful state parks and vistas to see. It's a bit of a drive from Portland, OR but well worth the trip! Some popular towns to visit include: Astoria, Manzanita, Seaside, and Tillamook (check out the creamery in Tillamook. Free cheese yay!)
