FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

For Thursday evening, the dress code is elevated casual. Think comfortable but polished. For men, button-down shirts with pants or chinos are perfect. Jackets and ties are not required. For women, sundresses, skirts, dressy pants, or relaxed dinner attire all work well. For Friday, the dress code is cocktail attire. Men should wear suits, but ties are optional and open collars are completely fine. Women should wear long dresses. Santa Barbara can cool down in the evening, so we recommend bringing a light layer.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Transportation will be provided on Friday only for the wedding events after the ceremony. We’ve arranged trolley transportation from the courthouse to cocktail hour at Rosewood Miramar Beach Bar, and then from Rosewood Miramar Beach Bar to dinner at Lucky’s Montecito. Please refer to the Schedule page for pickup times and locations. Guests should plan to arrange their own transportation to the ceremony, as well as transportation on Thursday for the sunset cruise and welcome dinner. After dinner on Friday, guests should also plan to arrange their own transportation back to their hotel or accommodations.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse Gardens. Cocktail hour will be at Rosewood Miramar Beach, followed by dinner at Lucky’s in Montecito. We recommend wearing shoes that are comfortable for walking and standing outdoors.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive at the courthouse 15–20 minutes before the ceremony begins at 5:00pm so everyone has time to settle in before we begin.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Santa Barbara is usually warm and sunny during the day in mid-August, with cooler evenings once the sun goes down. We recommend bringing sunglasses for the daytime and a light jacket, sweater, or wrap for the evening, especially for the sunset cruise and Friday’s outdoor portions. Rain is unlikely, but we recommend checking the forecast before you travel.
