About the wedding venue

Saturday, March 20th

“Founded in 1895 by Julius Caeser Newman, J.C. Newman Cigar Company is the oldest family-owned premium cigar maker in America. For four generations and 130 years, J.C. Newman has been handcrafting many of the world’s finest cigars. J.C. Newman is headquartered in an iconic 115-year-old cigar factory in the Ybor City National Historic Landmark District in Tampa, Florida. At this factory, known as “El Reloj,” J.C. Newman rolls premium cigars both by hand and by hand-operated, antique cigar machines. El Reloj is open to the public on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., although visitors are strongly encouraged to arrive before 3:00 p.m. when cigar rolling stops. Visiting J.C. Newman’s cigar museum, theater, and factory store is free! When it was built in 1910, El Reloj was considered to be the largest and finest cigar factory in the world. Of Tampa’s 150 cigar factories, El Reloj is the last one still operating. Visiting El Reloj today is like walking back in time. Inside its iconic red brick exterior, the Newman family rolls cigars in El Reloj just like they have been doing for more than a century using traditional handcrafted techniques and antique, hand-operated machines.” Learn more at jcnewman.com

Our story…

It all started in Tampa, at the city’s oldest bar, The Hub—a place Chante swore she’d never set foot in. At the time, Daniel was out of town visiting one of his best friends after hearing exciting news about a new job, but fate had other plans. Two months of endless phone calls, spanning from book club-style discussions to deep conversations about life’s big questions, followed. Even though Daniel was living in Jacksonville before moving to Pennsylvania and Chante was in the Tampa Bay area, their connection grew stronger with each passing day. During the two months they shared the same state, Chante and Daniel made the most of it, traveling as much as they could to see each other. And just before Daniel moved to Pennsylvania, he made one last trip to Chante’s apartment. With Barns Courtney’s “You and I” playing, they danced together in the kitchen, and solidified their commitment to each other. The distance didn’t stop them and eventually they took the leap to the Big Apple together. There, they created new memories, shared more adventures, and Daniel knew it was with Chante that he wanted to continue exploring life. Next came Atlanta—another new chapter filled with excitement and change. After moving, Daniel settling into a new job, and a few playful moments where Chante asked if he was ready to take the next step, Daniel had even more plans cooking behind the scenes. On an unforgettable trip to Canada, underneath the stunning northern lights, Daniel took Chante on the adventure of a lifetime. As the lights danced above them, he asked if she wanted to hear something sweet—and then, in that perfect moment, he proposed. In 2026 they plan to tie the knot- more details to come!
