Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) is the primary airport and will be your entry point into Kathmandu. Recommended time in Nepal should be at least two weeks, so you can enjoy other sights and world class tourist attractions, since you have already made your way here.
Our preferred hotel recommendations are below; they are all conveniently located close to where the festivities will take place. Do not rent a car. Local taxis are numerous and it is easy to hail a cab. You could rent a motorcycle if you are able to and have experience riding motorbikes in South Asia.

We highly recommend not renting vehicles. Local taxis are numerous and easy to hail. Traffic drives on the LEFT side and is usually bumper-to-bumper, with little attention given to rules. Leave it to the pros and use alternative transportation means.
