Brittany moved to Chicago in April of 2014 from California, after being transferred for work. She didn't know a soul, nor had she ever visited there before. In hopes to build new relationships and meet people, she downloaded the Tinder App. Daniel had gone to undergrad at Loyola Chicago, and had since moved back to his hometown of Grand Rapids to finish graduate school. He moved back to Chicago at the end of 2014 and he too was trying to find his own Tinderella. The two swiped right and fell in love over Lou Malnati's pizza, laughs at The Second City, and the rest is history...
On a chilly morning in February, Daniel was dropping Brittany off at the airport where she was flying to Cleveland. He then made the long drive to Detroit from Chicago to pick out the ring. It wasn't for three more months that he would use it to propose. May 24th, 2017. Brittany was at rehearsal for an upcoming production she was in. At home, Daniel was sweating bullets, as he was cleaning the house, lighting candles, and sprinkling rose petals all over their room. He set a luggage on the bed and filled it with photos of the two of them, more rose petals, photos of the Eiffel Tower, and a sign that said Paris. He had been waiting for over an hour when she finally walked in the door. She noticed the rose petals and how nice the house smelled. Completely oblivious to what was going on, she walked to the bedroom as she saw Daniel standing there in a suit jacket holding a bouquet of red roses. Her favorite love song was playing in the background. Instead of walking towards him she asked if he was okay. He told her to come in to the bedroom. She commented on how nice the bedroom looked and how nice it smelled. Daniel got on one knee and told Brittany how he truly felt, and that he couldn't wait to start his life with her. She dropped her keys and purse and asked if he was crazy. Through the shock and emotion she managed to say yes! He then walked to the night table and informed her that he had filmed the whole thing. With a camera in his hand he gestured to the luggage and said there was one more surprise. She let him know that this one surprise was enough and didn't know how much more she could take. She opened the luggage and saw the sign to Paris. Daniel then said; "We are going to Paris, tomorrow. Everything is planned, everyone at work has covered for you. Let's pack!" Daniel had been planning for months, and then it was Brittany's turn. Now here they are!
