In the youthful glow of 24 and 26, Bri and Daniel met the modern way: on Hinge. They matched over Thanksgiving week while both were out of town, quickly establishing an easy, flirty text banter and making plans for their first date the Friday night they were both back in New York. Daniel chose a restaurant that, upon arrival, turned out to be more of a loud club than a place to fall in love. Luckily, Bri was running late (a theme that will surprise absolutely no one), giving him just enough time to pivot to what would become their forever favorite Brooklyn wine bar, Woodhul. Bri remembers walking in and immediately being struck by his smile, and things only escalated when Daniel casually spoke to the waiter in Spanish. She was swooned. It was over. From the very beginning, they felt like they had known each other forever. About an hour into that first date, Bri mentioned playing water polo, and Daniel replied, “You never told me that,” as if they’d already shared a lifetime of conversations. Eventually, they moved into their first apartment together in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, just down the street from Transmitter Park. It was there, in July 2024, on the waterfront with the Manhattan skyline behind them, that Daniel surprised Bri before their summer trip to Europe and asked her to marry him; with friends and family waiting nearby to celebrate (Daniel did good). A few months later, in October, they packed up their life & their dog Beau and moved to Nashville, where they’ve been building their latest chapter -- collecting new favorite spots, making lifelong friends, and setting themselves up for the best to come.
