While everyone loves to chat about how they met or their first date, the real plot twist happened on our second date. After a fun Saturday at the K—the scene of our initial “hitting it off”—I bravely asked the cute guy from Hinge, who enjoys soccer, Italian food, and has an oddly strong attachment to sleeping with a fan, for an evening stroll as our second date. I know cute, and what could go wrong? Fast forward to our evening at Fox and Pearl. After my second glass of wine, I decided to enjoy the fresh air—but unfortunately, gravity had other ideas. I took an unexpected tumble right outside the restaurant. Luke’s face went from smitten to shocked, while a group of guys waiting for their Uber looked on, horrified, with one guy pointing out, “We heard a crack, dude!” As luck would have it, Luke’s dad is an emergency room physician and convinced him to convince me to go to the hospital after I spent a day on the couch with an ice pack, stubbornly thinking it could cure my ankle fracture. It was a whole thing. Since that tumble, we’ve soaked up the sun on gorgeous beaches, devoured countless baguettes, and even returned to Fox and Pearl—this time without an ER visit. Luke likes to joke that I literally fell for him. Now, we can't wait for all of you to join us in Mexico City—a vibrant place bursting with rich history and breathtaking views. Thank you for celebrating with us as we toast to how the ultimate misstep became the best step we could ever take together.

Aunque a todo el mundo les gusta dar muchos detalles de su primera cita, nuestra relación dio un giro en nuestra segunda cita. Después de un divertido sábado viendo a los Kansas City Royals —donde tuvimos nuestra primera cita—, me atreví a invitar al chico guapo de la aplicación de citas, que disfruta del fútbol, ​​la comida italiana y tiene una extraña afición por dormir con un ventilador, a caminar. ¿Qué podría salir mal? Esa noche fuimos a un restaurante llamado Fox and Pearl. Después de mi segunda copa de vino, decidí disfrutar del aire fresco, pero por desgracia, la gravedad tenía otros planes. De repente perdí el paso y me caí fuera del restaurante. ¿Sabes lo difícil que es ser yo? La cara de Luke pasó de estar enamorado a estar sorprendido, mientras un grupo de chicos que esperaban su Uber vieron todo, y uno de ellos señaló: "¡Oímos un crujido!". Por suerte, el padre de Luke es médico de urgencias y lo convenció de que me convenciera de ir al hospital después de pasar un día en el sofá con una compresa de hielo, pensando tercamente que podría curar mi fractura de tobillo. Fue todo un drama. A Luke le gusta bromear diciendo que me cae de cabeza por el amor. Ahora, estamos felices que todos nos acompañen en la Ciudad de México, un lugar vibrante, lleno de historia y vistas impresionantes.
