It's better to book sooner rather than later. Duluth is a tourist destination and Bentleyville draws thousands to Duluth every Holiday season.
Be careful when booking hotels downtown as parking can be a nightmare. Also, avoid hotels and rentals near the hospitals downtown or near the Duluth Public Library. There's some real weirdos down there. If you're looking to stay downtown, we recommend looking in the Canal Park area. Otherwise, there are many nice and affordable hotels "up the hill" near Hermantown and the mall (more inland from the lake if you're looking at a map). There are also some newer boutique hotels in the Lincoln Park area which is very close to several breweries, restaurants, and shopping!
