Can we bring the kids?

Answer

Yep, children are welcome at both the ceremony and the reception. We'll have a kids table at the reception with activities and a designated adult supervisor so we don't miss those sweet dad moves on dance floor.

Where should we stay?

Answer

We've reserved a hotel block at the Embassy Suites in Springfield, VA. We've selected this hotel as it includes free breakfast, a restaurant and bar, and its location should route you around the worst traffic on 95 - it may look further away, but it can be faster to get there than to hotels in Woodbridge. Check out the TRAVEL page for the link to reserve your room by August 1. There are also many hotels in Falls Church, Occoquan, and Woodbridge, and camping (RV, cabin, and tent) available at Pohick Bay Regional Park.

Will transportation be provided to the ceremony/reception?

Answer

We've set up a code for you to use the ride-share app Lyft between the hotel and reception. Use promo code SARGENT91 *before you request a ride* to claim a $30 credit. The code is valid for 18 uses, so please buddy up to fill each car as much as possible, and try to have the same person request a ride both there and back. (For example, if 18 guests request rides to the reception, no new guests can use the code on the way back. But you can still hitch a ride back with those same 18 guests so long as they haven’t used all of their $30 yet!) You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the ceremony at The Falls Church Episcopal.

Is there parking at the church?

Yes, there are two church parking lots and plenty of free street parking in Falls Church. Take a look at the TRAVEL page for a map of the area.

What's the dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal. Though the church and reception venue will be air-conditioned, be prepared for hot weather - gents, feel free to opt for no jacket. The church is 249 years old, so please be kind to its valiant effort at climate control. The reception will be indoors, and will have outdoor space for a starlit cocktail, pictures on the dock, a walk along the river, and yard games.

Can I take/post photos?

Answer

No photos during the ceremony, please. We invite you to turn off your phones and cameras to take time to unwind, breathe, sing, meet someone new, and join us in the joy of our first fleeting moments as husband and wife. While our ceremony is unplugged, our reception is not! We'd love to see our wedding day from your perspective, so please share your favorite shots! You can share with us by adding our hashtag #SayIDoReMi to your Instagram or Facebook post. You'll need to be our "friend" or post publicly for us to see.
