Dane and Raymond met when they worked at Loomis as armored truck drivers. They bonded over being Spokane transplants. Since departing Loomis, Dane convinced Raymond to join the Department of Corrections like him, and now they are "brothers in blue".

Nathan is Dane's oldest brother. Although Nathan took up a life in Canada with his growing family, he is sure to check in on his little brother from time to time.
