In Perugia's main square, the Galleria Nazionale dell'Umbria houses a collection from the Umbrian school of painting from the 13th through 19th centuries.
Etruscan arch, Etruscan well, Etruscan city walls

Historic Assisi is 30-minute drive from Perugia and has stunning churches and piazzas worth seeing if you have down time during the weekend.
Call ahead for a guided tour and wine tasting. The town closest to this vineyard, Bevagna, is also beautiful with delicious food. We recommend small, family-run restaurant Antiche Sere.
Spoleto, another nearby Umbrian hill town, which dates back to 200 BC, is a 45-minute drive. The cathedral is worth a visit, as is the Roman aqueduct Ponte delle Torri.
