Things To Do

While you might get a quick look at certain exhibits throughout the wedding, PEM has a lot to offer and is well worth a proper visit.

Peabody Essex Museum

One of the few remaining original homes in Salem, owned by one of the judges that spearheaded the Salem Witch Trials.

The Witch House at Salem

Beautiful historic home and tour, this was the setting of the eponymous 1851 Nathaniel Hawthorne novel. One of Salem's most popular sites.

The House of the Seven Gables

In a town infamous for its witch-hunting history, how can you pass up on learning about it firsthand? Similar attractions include the Witch Dungeon Museum (on Lynde Street) and the Witch History Museum (on Essex Street).

Salem Witch Museum

Learn about Salem's water-bound history of merchants and Revolutionary War conflict. A great waterfront location, complete with a fully reconstructed tall-ship.

Salem Maritime National Historic Site

A quaint waterfront district full of shops and places to eat or drink. Also only steps away from the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.

Pickering Wharf

A seaside park great for walking, ocean views, and picnicking. There is also a popular arcade, a variety of children's activities, and an assortment of casual restaurants.

Salem Willows Park

If you want to squeeze a bunch of sightseeing in at once, or just want to see all of your options before deciding what to dive into, the Salem Trolley is a great way to get you exposure to most of what the town has to offer.

Salem Trolley Inc

If you can't make a summer weekend without a beach trip, this is one of the best in the area. Only a few miles from Salem, it's one of the better beaches in the immediate area.

Singing Beach

If you're looking for a nice walk, hike, or bike ride over the weekend, this forest preserve near the Saugus River will have something for you.
