Amazing things happen when the stars align. Dan had just moved to the Boston area for a coaching job under the man who coached him in college, but had no family or friends in the area. Jesyka had just gotten a coaching job in the Boston area after playing professionally overseas for four years and was less than excited to jump back into the dating scene. They each had decided to go online to search for that special someone(Dan being the more optimistic of the two). After a few dates that didn't lead anywhere, Jesyka was ready to throw in the towel after meeting no suitable paramours. Dan had met a few nice people, but nobody special. Dan came across a profile with a very genuine smile. She was tall, loved sports, lived just 40 minutes away and her profile seemed interesting! Meanwhile, Jesyka had gotten a message from a guy who appeared really genuine, was tall, and seemed to be reaching out for all the right reasons. They agreed to meet up! One of the first things Jesyka remembers about Dan, as she walked up behind him, was that he was legitimately 6'8''(he actually told the truth about his height!) and she liked that he was there early. Dan was really excited that her smile looked just like her photo and she too was an actual Amazon. What stuck with each of them the most was the instant and authentic comfort they felt with each other. 4 hours(and lots of oversharing) later, they decided to end the date but not before a big hug. As if almost to double check if the connection was mutual, Dan asked her for another hug just before leaving, to which she eagerly said yes(she was still swooning from the first hug). 3 states, 7 job changes, and countless fusing moments later, Dan asked Jesyka to marry him in the most "Dan" way possible....in front of family and loved ones. On 8/24/19, Dan and Jesyka start a new chapter in their love story, and look forward to you all sharing it with them.
Jesyka had only one request, when it came to being purposed to, "can you just make sure my Mom is there?" she said. And so the perfect guise was her 30th Birthday. Family could be invited, formal attire, a limo... she would have no idea. They were living in the Boston area at the time and Dan wanted the spot to be special and be a place that they could come back to. He picked a spot right near the Charles River on the campus where Jeyka went to school, Boston University. The group of about 12 family members were outside the apartment, where Jesyka and Dan stayed, taking photos in front of the limo. Jesyka had made a reservation for everyone at a seafood restaurant so she gave the signal to load up. She started to ask questions in the limo... "where are we going?" "is this how to get to the restaurant?" she was saying to anyone that would listen. Champagne was being passed around, laughter and smiles were shared, for everyone knew but her. At one point Sharon, Jesyka's Mom, leaned over, when Jesyka was questioning the route, "Jesyka! Drink your drink." she said. "Ok!" Jesyka mumbled as she sat back into the leather couch of the limo. The limo pulls over and the group gets out quickly. "We're gonna go take one more photo!" Dan exclaims. They scurry across the walking bridge and get into position, taking one big family photo. Dan has Jesyka wrapped in his arm as he reaches into his pocket to take out the ring. Sharon bumps through the crowd, "excuse me!" she says while getting into better position to take photos. Dan gets down on one knee, Jesyka turns and is overtaken by surprise and joy. The look on her face was captured from many different angles since she held it so long. "I think we're ready," Dan says, forgetting all the things that he had mulled over in his head in the prior months. "Will you marry me?" he asked. "Yes! Yes! Every day of the week! Yes!" she says while pulling him up from his kneeling position. The ring fit, and so did they...
