We met online, like any good millennial couple does these days. Dan was scrolling through profiles and noticed a quirky-smiled Andy online and decided to send him a message. After several hours of messaging, Dan asked Andy if he would be interested in meeting up for a drink. Andy then shared that he was actually from Buffalo and would be leaving for Georgia in the morning so he wasn't able to. Dan immediately thought Andy was just blowing him off because who would willingly travel to Georgia in August? He also didn't think a "long-distance" (66.1 miles one-way trip) would be practical if this were to develop into something more. Sure enough the next day Dan opened his Snapchat to see Andy standing in the airport, passport in hand with a promise of a date when he returned in 3 days. Well 3 days turned into 15 days, due to work schedule issues. On Friday, September 14, 2018 Andy took the long drive to Rochester and met Dan at his apartment before the two went to one of their now favorite restaurants, Tony D's. After a great dinner, a walk along the canal, and wine at Flight, Dan was sure this was the one he had been waiting for. Unbeknownst to Dan, by taking Andy to a place called "Flight" and Andy being a plane-fanatic, Andy too had a funny feeling in the back of his mind that maybe this could be the co-pilot he had been searching for. Fast forward to now, Andy and Dan live in Buffalo along with their fur-children Lincoln and Charlotte. They have gone on many adventures, including 16 states and 4 countries, soon to be 5 after the honeymoon! They survived an engagement followed by the next day the world going into a global lockdown due to COVID and spent the next 4 months quarantined together. If that's not a true test of a "Do you take this man for the rest of your life" we don't know what is! They were able to plan their entire wedding two years into the future during that time, so silver linings, thanks COVID for that planning time to spend together!
