This is a wedding reception, but we will have an abbreviated ceremony! We will already have had a small ceremony in Chicago and will be legally married by September, but want to celebrate with everyone in California, where our families live. For all intents and purposes... this is our wedding! It will just look a little different.
Fly into Oakland or San Francisco airports. The wedding venue is in San Ramon, which is a suburb of Oakland. We recommend the Chicago people grouping up and splitting a rental house and cars. If there are any financial hurdles in coming, please let Humza or Danaka know - our families live in the area and we could find you a place to stay. Also, if you're making a trip out of it, we strongly recommend NOT renting a car if you're staying in SF or Oakland, your car will absolutely get broken into and it costs about $500 to replace. If you're staying in San Ramon or surrounding suburbs, your car will be OK, probably! BART can get you from SF or Oakland to Dublin, CA which is a short uber ride from the venue. The last BART train usually leaves the Dublin station at midnight, so you should still be able to BART back to the city from the venue. Getting a rental house with a large group in the suburbs (San Ramon, Dublin, Danville, Castro Valley) with a rental car would probably allow for easy day trips in and out of the city and around the Bay Area.
Dress up and dress fancy! Please refrain from wearing dark brown and white, the colors the bride and groom will be wearing!
Plus ones, long term partners, or children have been indicated on the invitations! Our venue has a capacity of 250 people, and 250 invites were sent out, please be respectful of our venue space.
No, this will be an alcohol-free wedding.
Please RSVP by June 15.
Dinner, dancing and more dancing with ample opportunities for photos with us!
Since we are traveling to California and live in Chicago, we are asking for no boxed/bagged gifts at the reception. There will be a place for cards at the venue.
