What's the difference between Bluefin and Surfside?

Answer

Bluefin Bay family of Resorts include 3 locations: Bluefin Bay, Surfside, and Temperance Landing. The ceremony will take place near Bluefin Bay at Tofte Park. The reception is located one mile south on Hwy 61, at Surfside in the Waves of Superior building. There is parking at both locations, or to walk betwixt the two takes about 30 minutes.

Ceremony: Guests staying at the AmericInn or certain Bluefin buildings are just a 5-minute walk from Tofte Park, so you're welcome to leave your car at your hotel. For those staying elsewhere, parking is available along Tofte Park Road. Do NOT park directly in front of the Fire Station. Please note: the parking area at the boat ramp is reserved for vendors, wedding party, and guests of a certain age ;) If you need to park closer to the ceremony, please coordinate directly with us. Reception: Parking is available in the lot at Waves of Superior.

Walking?

Answer

Weather permitting, we'd love for you to enjoy a scenic 30-minute walk through the woods from the ceremony to the reception—just be sure to wear appropriate shoes! Head south on Tofte Park Road until you cross Highway 61 (traffic slows to 40 mph as it enters Tofte). Pick up the Gitchi-gami State Bike Trail on the west side of the road, which will take you nearly all the way to Surfside. You'll have a short ~500 ft walk along Highway 61 before reaching Surfside Drive, so stay alert and enjoy the journey! However you choose to travel back after the celebration (whether walking or with a designated driver) please be safe.

Lake Weather can be unpredictable! Be sure to pack a warm layer and rain gear for the weekend; we will make every effort to hold the ceremony outdoors. However, if we encounter particularly strong winds or heavy rain, we will move the ceremony to a backup indoor location. A text message will go out to all guests who have RSVP'd on the day of the event, so make sure you check your phone before heading to the ceremony!
