The ceremony will be at the park near Bluefin Bay, which is a mile north on 61 from the reception at Surfside. There is parking at both locations, or to walk along the Gitchi-Gami trail takes about 30 minutes.

Come back for details next spring. For now, all you gotta do is decide where you're going to stay!
Travel Note
Our wedding is the same day as Grandma's Marathon between Two Harbors and Duluth, so there will be delays and heavy traffic on your journey north. As most of the hotels in the area require a 2-night stay anyway, we recommend traveling on Friday, so you can relax along the shores of Lake Superior before the wedding! See Things to Do for ideas :)
Hotel
There are lots of room options for whatever group size you're traveling with! We recommend staying at Bluefin Bay (near the ceremony) or Surfside (near the reception). Minimum 2-night stay required. To get our wedding discount, book online using the Special Code section: "WEDD5". The North Shore is a popular summer vacation destination, to ensure your stay we recommend that you book as early as possible!! A deposit will be charged upon booking, but cancellations made at least 14 days prior to arrival will receive a full refund. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to us or to Bluefin directly!
Hotel
AmericInn is directly across from the location of the wedding ceremony. There is a block of rooms set aside for Brent and Dana's wedding and a minimum 2-night stay is required. To book under the block, call the hotel directly (218-663-7899) and give our names. Please note that you MUST book by May 1st, 2026 when any remaining rooms will be returned to their inventory. Cancellations are accepted up to 48 hours prior to arrival.
Travel Note
There are lots of resorts and hotels along the North Shore within a short driving distance from Tofte. We cannot guarantee that they will have availability, but if you're looking for other options, you might consider: Solbakken Resort Cliff Dweller on Lake Superior Mountain Inn at Lutsen Caribou Highlands Lodge State Park camping: reservations open 120 days prior (2/20/26) Most (but not all!) require a minimum 2-night stay. Of course, Airbnb or Vrbo are also great options. We are confident you can find what you're looking for! If we can help in the process, please feel free to reach out to Brent or Dana.
The North Shore has TONS of great parks. We recommend stopping at one or more of the following to hike, explore, and enjoy the beauty of the Northwoods :) Split Rock: famous for the lighthouse Tettegouche: where we got engaged! Shovel Point and Palisade Head both offer great views of the cliffs of Lake Superior Temperance River: hike along the gorge to the bridge or park at the Trailhead to Carlton and Tofte Peaks and hike a bit further for panoramic views of the Sawtooth Mountains Cascade River: check out the series of waterfalls along the Cascade River, or follow the Shoreline trail to skip stones and hunt for Agates
The section that connects Schroeder and Lutsen totals 12.5 miles (with a small, 0.3 mi gap in Tofte). Guests staying at Bluefin can enjoy complementary bike rentals, see the activities desk for details.
Bluefin offers kayaking excursions for guests staying at the resort. No experience necessary! See the activities desk for details.
Bluefin Bay Family of Resorts include 3 locations: Bluefin Bay, Surfside, and Temperance Landing. The ceremony will take place near Bluefin Bay at Tofte Town Park. The reception is located about a mile south on Hwy 61, at Surfside. There is parking at both locations, or to walk betwixt the two takes about 30 minutes.
