What to do in the Central Coast

The Wedding Website of Dana Malter and Tim Gaughan
We are excited to share some of our favorite places with you in the Central Coast, but it is impossible to cover all the options California has to offer! The endless adventures are why we are so in love with California! Please do your research before coming to make sure you get to experience some of what the central coast can offer!

Paso Robles

Paso Robles/ Templeton, CA

Central Coast wine country is about 30 minutes north of SLO and offers over 200 wineries and breweries. Our favorite wine is Venteux but there are plenty of great wineries to visit for food and drinks. We would also highly recommend checking out Tin City if you have the time. It is an industrial community full of tasting rooms for both wine and beer. It is a fun social scene where you will find young artisans, food trucks, live music, and yard games. For beer, a local favorite of ours is 805, which you can find at the Firestone brewery In Paso Robles. Firestone also has a restaurant in SLO and you can try 805 almost anywhere!

The Coast

Pismo, Avila, Morro Bay, Cambria, CA

Pismo Beach, about 30 minutes west of SLO, is famous for beach camping and driving along the sandy dunes and deep shoreline. Avila Beach, just north of Pismo, is a quaint beach town with beautiful views of the coast. Morro Bay and Cambria are both popular scenic beach towns along the 1 highway. The famous Hearst Castle is located in Cambria.

Big Sur

CA

Big Sur may require an extra day to explore all its beauty, but if you have the time we highly recommend it! There is nothing quite like this iconic State Park and the beautiful surrounding beach towns of Monterey and Carmel-By-The-Sea. It is truly a magical place! If driving to or from San Fransisco, even if you just drive on the 1 through Big Sur, you will not be disappointed. Make sure to pit stop in Santa Cruz as well if you have the time.

Bruce Munro: Field of Light At Sensorio

4380 California 46, Paso Robles, CA 93446
, (805) 226-4287

A walk through art exhibition that fill the rolling hills with fiber-optic bulbs powered by solar. The walk is .5 mile loop you can take your time strolling through. We highly recommend this as an activity one night if you have the extra time!

For all the days along the way
