Question

How can I get to Lake Placid, NY?

Answer

The easiest way to get to Lake Placid, NY is to drive. Once you are in town, you can navigate to Camp Green Top (Madison's family camp) by getting onto Whiteface Inn Road, which is off of Route 86. From Whiteface Inn Rd, you can reach a parking lot on Chipmunk Lane which is a minute's walk to Camp Green Top. If you are flying, the two nearest airports are in Albany NY or Burlington VT; from there, you will need to rent a car to reach Lake Placid. The drive from either city will be about 2-2.5 hrs. The trip from Burlington, VT to Lake Placid, NY includes a ferry ride, which you will need to account for in your travel plans.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

For the ceremony, please wear something snazzy that makes you feel like yourself! Think colorful cocktail clothes, with layers for the weather. The ceremony will take place outdoors in the early evening, under a covered porch. One thing to keep in mind is that the weather in Lake Placid can change on a dime. In early September, the daily highs are typically in the low 70s, and the daily lows can get down into the 40s at night. So, in the evening, come with something toasty to toss over your fancy duds!

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors, on a covered porch. The reception will be largely indoors, though there are is some outdoor space available as well.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Plan to arrive 30 minutes in advance of the ceremony. The ceremony starts at 5:30, so we hope our guests will be present and mingling by 5:00pm.

Question

What's your tech policy during the ceremony?

Answer

We're asking our guests to keep their phones tucked away during the ceremony itself, though of course you are welcome to use your technology to your heart's content at any other time during the event!

Question

What can I expect for dinner at the reception?

Answer

We've opted for a picnic-style dinner, and will have platters of sandwiches from our favorite sandwich shop, Simply Gourmet (also known as 46 Sandwiches). The range of sandwiches include options with turkey, ham, beef, mozzarella, fresh vegetables, and grilled vegetables; we will also have vegetable sides, large salads, and other snacks like chips. For dessert, you can expect cake, fresh fruit, and some delicious Chinese pastries!

Question

Will you be able to accommodate my dietary needs?

Answer

We plan to have gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options for dinner. If you have allergies, sensitivities, or restrictions beyond these, please contact us in advance so we can prepare something special for you!
