The Wedding Shuttle

August 15, 2020 2:30 pm - 12:00 am

We will have a shuttle that will transport to and from the Jewell Cabin on the island. If coming from Anacortes, we recommend leaving vehicles in Anacortes and taking the ferry as a "walk-on". 2:30pm - 3:30pm To the Jewell Cabin: Shuttle will service every ferry run and will be available on an on-call basis to pickup island stayers 5:00pm-Midnight Back home: Shuttle will be available on an on-call basis to take guests back to the ferry dock or to their on-island lodgings. Note: The last ferry run is at 11:00pm! keep this in mind if you are staying on the mainland! To get picked up by the shuttle call 928-420-3538.

Travel Note

The Guemes Island Ferry

Fares change depending on the season, summer round trip fares are as follows: Walk on - $5.00 per person Vehicle and driver - $15.00 (additional $5.00 per passenger) FERRY DO'S Aim to arrive at the dock 20-30 mins before your ferry if you are taking a vehicle across. Just show up and get in line, no reservation required! Ferry attendants will come to your vehicle or approach you in the walk-on area to sell you tickets. There is also a ticket booth inside the ferry building. Bring cash! FERRY DONT'S Don't confuse the Guemes Island Ferry with the San Juan Ferry!! They both leave out of Anacortes, but take you to very different islands! Click below for schedule and more details

Travel Note

Travel to the Jewell Cabin

Once on the island its about a 5 mile drive to the wedding site. Our wedding shuttle will transport to and from the ferry dock and around the island (see the travel note on the wedding shuttle). If you are coming from out of town, you may want to rent a car or carpool from the airport. Anacortes is pretty rural and though there is a bus system (https://www.skagittransit.org/) it is not very robust or quick. Call us for some ideas if you are trying to avoid renting a car. You can usually find cheap car rentals at the Seattle Airport. Check out this link to tour Guemes Island, Anacortes, and the San Juans by satellite!

Flight

Flying in to Northern Washington

If youre flying in to town, there are two airport choices: BELLINGHAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT The closest airport, about a 1 hour drive to Anacortes. Also the tiniest and possibly most expensive depending on where you are coming from. SEATTLE-TACOMA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Located in south Seattle, its a 1.5 - 3 hour drive to Anacortes depending on traffic.
