Stumpie, Nikki, Boo...Dana has many love-able nicknames for this best friend since college. From IU Bloomington to Chicago, and then So Cal and South Africa, Heather has been there for it all. Always the first to the dance floor and the last to leave the party, her excitement for life is contagious. She's also known for her olympic training style beach bike rides along the coast. If we're lucky, she'll show us her skills on the SA beach trails.

Besties since their days at IU Bloomington, their friendship started over a shared love of late night pizza (za) and belt your lungs out karaoke. Always there to lend an ear for a late night chat, Katie's friendship is invaluable. It will be her second trip to South Africa, and this time Dana promises more leisure time and fewer 'moderate' hikes.

Dana hopes they can see more 'rhinos galore' during Christine's return trip to South Africa.

Having relocated to SA from the US within days of each other, they navigated the nuances of life in Joburg together and ventured around the African continent. Now residing in southern France, Morgan continues her pursuit of understanding the phenomenon of horizontal rain while sampling the country's finest rosés.

A powerhouse and pioneer, Jani and Dana first met in their MBA class at UCT and became close friends as they discovered their shared interest to change the world. One of the first of Dana's friends to spend time with 'the couple', Jani has seen the evolution of their relationship from first date to marriage. Jani's drive to find ways to improve the lives of others is never-ending. And you'll rarely see her without a smile her face.

From planning a hike up one of Cape Town's many mountains to planning a get together, Mcjoy keeps life exciting and is always there to support.

Dana's soon to be sister and mother to her (dog niece) Nellie, Jess is always thinking of others and brightening their days. When she isn't busy saving lives as a nurse in Chicago, she's a fierce competitor in rummy cube and couple's card games. It's her first visit to the African continent and Dana cannot wait to show Jess around South Africa.
