Do I have to pay for parking at Wickham Park?

Answer

For the Jack & Jill on Saturday 9/15/18, you do have to pay the $5 admission fee per car to enter the park. On the day of the wedding, Saturday 10/20/18, you do not have to pay to access the park. Please tell the park ranger at the front gate that you are there for the cabin wedding and they will let you in free of charge.

Are the Jack & Jill and the Wedding being held at the same place?

Answer

Not exactly. The Jack & Jill will be held at Williams Pavilion in Wickham Park and the wedding ceremony and reception will be held at the Cabin Garden at Wickham Park. ***Please see Photo page for a map of Wickham Park, including the Jack & Jill and Wedding locations.

Should I bring gifts to the Jack & Jill or wedding?

Answer

We are registered for some items that we truly want. Our registry is located online on this site under "registry." We did not go too wild with registering as we are renters and already have many things. We appreciate any gift, whether it is in the form of a gift from the registry, purchased raffle tickets for prizes at the Jack & Jill, or simply a monetary gift.

Do I need to select a meal option for the wedding reception?

Answer

No need! We are serving a ‘stations’ style dinner. You will have the option to choose from 4 dinner stations and enjoy all the food you’d like. Stations include a carving station with turkey, beef and ham, a potato station with all the fixings, a pasta station, and a Mexican food station. Plus, everyone will be served a salad at the table.

Is it an open bar reception?

Answer

Yes, both the cocktail hour immediately following the ceremony and the reception are open bar (The bartender will be accepting tips). There will be plenty of waiter-passed hors d'oeuvre to munch on throughout the cocktail hour so you don’t get too hungry.

Is there plenty of parking?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of parking close to the Garden Cabin where the ceremony and reception are being held. There is also plenty of parking near and around Williams Pavilion where the Jack & Jill will be held.

If I’d like to spend the night nearby where should I stay?

Answer

There are several hotels in the Manchester area. We also reserved a block of rooms at the Red Roof Inn in downtown Hartford as well. Please see the “Accommodations” page on our wedding website for more information.

Is there anything going on after the reception?

Answer

Since the wedding concludes at 10 p.m., the bride, groom and wedding party invite anyone who is staying in Hartford at the Red Roof Inn, or anywhere nearby, to join us for an after party downtown. There are several local bars where we can keep the fun going! We’ll decide where to meet up closer to the wedding date. There will be a shuttle available to and from the wedding, picking up guests from Red Roof Inn and the Goodwin (where the bridal party is staying) before the wedding and after the reception.

Is there any transportation available to get to the wedding or to the after party?

Answer

There sure is! We encourage everyone to be safe. You can park in Hartford if you know you’d like to hang out afterward. There will be a shuttle available to and from the wedding, picking up guests from Red Roof Inn and the Goodwin (where the bridal party is staying) before the wedding and after the reception. Run times for the shuttle will be at 2-5 p.m. and will start up again at 9 p.m. to midnight.

Can I leave my car at the Wedding location and Uber home?

Answer

Please be safe! If you need to catch a ride home, please do. The park gates will open again at 9:30 am the next morning and you MUST get you car before noon as another event is taking place there the next day. Be safe but also be considerate, thank you!

Are kids invited to the wedding?

Answer

We are keeping this evening wedding to adults only. The Jack & Jill is kid-friendly, however!
