Dan and Amy worked at the same company, and worked together on a project called State Appointment Discontinuation, or 'SAD' for short. Their story, however, is anything but! After several months of conference calls, work emails and nothing to go on but a tiny thumbnail-sized picture, there was already a little curiosity brewing between the two of them. Dan thought Amy's picture was 'cute,' and Amy thought Dan was handsome, funny and well-spoken. Outside of work, one day in June 2015, Amy joined Match.com and came across the profile of a handsome man wearing a baseball hat and holding a Bud Light. While not impressed with his taste in beer (Amy is a beer snob!), she investigated further. Another picture within the profile revealed that this profile belonged to Dan from work! Amy wasn't sure what to do. His profile description seemed perfectly in line with the type of person she was looking for, but was it weird to reach out to a coworker? Would it be acceptable, or even allowed? She simply clicked 'like' on his profile picture and left it at that, but hoped he would notice her and that it would be a match. Amy was thrilled when she checked her profile the next day and saw that Dan responded by sending a funny and friendly message. Knowing each other through work led to an immediate sense of comfort for both them. After 2 weeks and many, many messages, emails, texts and phone calls, they met face-to-face at The Elbow Room in West Hartford, CT on July 8, 2015. it was an immediate connection that set the course for a loving, fun-filled relationship. October 20, 2018 will mark one of many joyful milestones in their lives together.
