Maid of Honor
The Amy to my Jo! There was never a single doubt about who my maid of honor would be. No one knows the inner workings of my brain better than my little sister and current roommate, Karlyn. Growing up, I was always the one in charge. I loved playing “school,” which basically meant I was the tyrannical teacher handing out printed math tests Karlyn had to complete. I decided what movies we watched, what songs played in the car, and gave my opinion on what she should wear to almost everything. I even had thoughts on what her name should have been when she was born. My idea? Tree. It’s safe to say I wasn’t always the easiest big sister. But when I left for Italy, something shifted. Without her bossy big sister around, Karlyn found her own voice, her own opinions, and her own fire. That’s why she’s the Amy to my Jo. Like the tree I once wanted to name her after, she’s grown stronger, wiser, and maybe even a little taller than me. To my little sister, to my Amy, to my favorite Tree. I couldn’t imagine anyone else by my side.
Best Man
Donovan is kind of a big deal. People know him. He’s been Luke’s ride-or-die through it all: the laughs, the “what were you thinking” moments, the late-night FIFA marathons, and every movie quote along the way. If Luke’s life were a film, Donovan’s in every scene. He’s the comic relief, the hype man, and occasionally the guy belting out R&B in the credits. And while Luke and Daly found their way to each other, Donovan may have helped give fate a friendly little nudge. _______________________________________

Megan, Meeg, Sweet Meeg, Meegshire. The calm in the storm! Megan has always been Daly’s rock, the friend she could count on no matter what. Being with her has always felt effortless, as if they had already lived entire lifetimes side by side, growing into old women together. Megan’s quick, quiet wit can make Daly belly laugh more than anyone else. The two of them spent most of sixth grade hopelessly obsessed with Josh Hutcherson, attending every Hunger Games premiere together and then rewatching the movies on sketchy leaked websites the moment they got home. In high school, Megan brought Daly and the girls to her family’s cabin in Maine, where they spent a week cut off from the rest of the world. Maine felt like the truest reflection of Megan herself: peaceful, quiet, easy, and truly beautiful. Daly’s life has been brighter, funnier, and steadier with Megan by her side, and she couldn’t imagine her story without her. _______________________________________

Some friendships take time to grow, and that’s exactly how it was with Jesus. Though he and Luke met in middle school, they really connected late in high school. From deep talks and jam sessions to gym runs and late night gaming, they built something real. Jesus is the kind of friend who never judges, always listens, and somehow gave Luke a sense of style when he had none. He has been loyal, funny, and always in Luke’s corner ever since. _______________________________________

Everyone loves a good trope, and dare I say, Mo and Daly were enemies-turned-friends. The two never really clicked in elementary school (please see the example of the sixth-grade Christmas concert), but eventually, they found each other. Mo was the perfect balance of spontaneity and reason. She would talk Daly down from calling ex-boyfriends in the middle of the night or stop her from blurting out “I love you” to Luke after barely knowing him (though, in the end, it all worked out, right?). At the same time, Mo was always ready to party hard, jump in the car for a late-night drive with nowhere to go, and fill the ride with nothing but songs and laughter. At age eight, they were belting out “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” during Spring Break at Ron Jon’s, and at age twenty-one, they were holding each other while crying through Red (Taylor’s Version). Whether Daly knew it or not, Mo had always been in her corner. Daly just needed a few visits to 2777 Chaddsford Circle to catch up. _______________________________________

Jordan is unapologetically himself in the best possible way. Whether unpacking the meaning of life or flipping through a film script at Panera Bread, he brings a level of thought and sincerity that’s rare. He listens, speaks with honesty, and somehow manages to balance being brutally real with deeply caring. There is always more going on behind the scenes. Sometimes it’s Jordan, sometimes it’s Don Don, but either way you’re getting someone who shows up with depth, humor, and heart. _______________________________________

Rachel and Daly together were a twin flame match, bonded in all things music, fire, chaos, and dance. Playtime with them typically involved running around Daly’s house naked (periwinkle, if you will), concocting wild potions to dump in the lake behind Rachel’s house, getting choked by Rachel’s childhood blanket (Bidi still seeks revenge to this day), drawing outrageous pictures of poop to send to NickJr.com, and filming all kinds of music videos that only made sense to them. Rachel and Daly just stuck together like glue and Rachel had always felt like a long-lost sister (they get asked if they’re related a lot). As they grew older, playtime turned into wine nights filled with the same laughter, whimsy, and unapologetic joy that had defined their earliest years. Once when they were kids, Rachel’s parents famously asked her whether she wanted to go to Disney World or Daly’s house. Without hesitation, Rachel chose Daly’s house, because for her: THAT was the most magical place on earth _______________________________________

Kevin is the kind of friend who shows up with his whole heart, no matter the moment. High school with him was controlled chaos in the best way. From the wild low brass section, to tossing stunts in cheer, to taking hits in lacrosse, we somehow made it all make sense. Through every season, Kevin has brought sincerity, sharp humor, and the kind of loyalty you don’t have to question. _______________________________________

Nikki and Daly were THE evil dynamic duo back in the day. Their combined imaginations made them unstoppable at any slumber party or youth group winter retreat. Together, they created alien worlds like the planet Hullaballoo, a super-secret lab in Nikki’s pantry, home movies with a character who was just a floating arm, and even an imaginary friend named Putter the Fish. No one matched Daly’s weird quite like Nikki, and to be seen is to be loved. Some of Daly’s fondest memories are wrapped up in those years: the hours spent at summer camp laughing as they dragged the other campers under their beds by their ankles like goblins. And of course, the infamous “Bigfoot photo scandal” from summer camp, a story that would be retold with laughter for years to come. Looking back, Daly’s childhood would not have been the same without the echo of Nikki’s laugh from somewhere in the room!

Austin and I were pretty much inseparable in high school. Alongside Kevin, we tackled band, cheer, and lacrosse like it was our full-time job. He gave out more free car washes than anyone asked for and somehow made each one feel like a hangout. With a camera in one hand and keys to some horse-themed luxury car in the other, Austin brought creativity, loyalty, and the kind of friendship that sticks through every season. _______________________________________

Kristine. The Swede. The mom of the group. For as long as Daly can remember, Kristina has been like the CEO of her life. She was always checking in, asking the real questions, and reminding her that she’s never alone, whether a thousand miles away or just a short car ride apart. Their friendship has always been a true partnership (they once even opened a fully functioning SeaWorld park in Kristina’s living room).Everyone needs a Kristina: someone who will run a marathon with you at the drop of a hat, wake up at 6 a.m. just to catch the sunrise, or care about the little details of your life as if they were her own. When they were younger, they loved to play a game called “Can Kristina Fit?” which usually involved Kristina squeezing into random small places (including, memorably, a suitcase at Marshall’s). But if there’s one place Kristina has always fit perfectly, it’s right by Daly’s side._______________________________________

Dimitri, also known as Primetime, is the kind of guy who can make anyone laugh. He brings joy, energy, and always shows up when it counts. He and Luke led their Growth Group like a true team, with heart and humor every step of the way. Through it all, Dimitri wasn’t just a friend to Cool Hand Luke. He was a brother. _______________________________________
