Beloved guests - how is the wedding weekend almost here?! Dalton and I got engaged on 4/27/2024 and now, after 2 1/2 years, our big day is right around the corner. A few notes: 1. The dress code for the welcome event is upscale casual - linen sets, sun dresses, button down shirts, etc. Nice jeans are welcome. 8pm Torreyanna Terrace Hilton. 2. The dress code for the wedding is Semi-Formal. Suits, nice jumpsuits, nice dresses, pant suits, etc. We have a link in FAQ to show examples. Please be at Arroyo Terrace at the Lodge at Torrey Pines by 3:45pm. 3. The pool party is at the Hilton, no dress code! We’ll have light bites and coffee. And I’ll be mermaiding around in the pool. Our San Diego Recommendations: For those of you traveling, we’d like to offer some tricks of the trade for your time in La Jolla, or surrounding San Diego. Restaurants: For fine dining in La Jolla, we would recommend George’s at the Cove. Incredible views, excellent food. For nearby dining, the Farmer and the Sea Horse is walking distance to the Hilton/The Lodge. For more a diverse set of dining options, we are quite close to One Paseo in Del Mar Heights. They have tons of wonderful restaurants. Dalton and I spent lots of time at One Paseo in our first year of dating. Sadly, it was much masked and outdoor and takeout time (Summer 2020), but it still is a special place for us. Sightseeing: If you have extra time in town, our number one rec is to come to Ocean Beach. Walk on Newport, get breakfast at Old Townhouse, tacos at Mike’s Taco Club, or an açaí bowl at Cafe Bella. Swim in our ocean, or chillax on the beach! OB>>>>> If you are staying in La Jolla, or north of, a great spot to visit is Cardiff. You can go to the Self Realization Fellowship (incredible walking/views), have breakfast at Pipes Cafe, order Dalton’s favorite empanadas at Bump Coffee, or venture slightly inland for the Encinitas Botanical Gardens. Downtown is mas o menos in our opinion. But Gaslamp is fun for dinner and the USS midway/Sea Port Village is an interesting couple of hours. Balboa Park is a great visit, too. The Zoo is a San Diego Classic, but do be prepared for San Diego prices.
