We love spending time at Hunting Island searching for sharks teeth. The sunrises are to die for! You can always find a variety of wildlife and there's an old light house to explore. Part of the movie Forrest Gump was filmed here. There is a small fee to enter the state park, but it's worth it!
This fun shop is a must stop! It's a fun vibrant place to get your souvenirs and bonus! they have a cute little ice cream shop. My favorite part is the paddle board and kayak rentals (and bikes for land lovers). They will drop them off and pick them up for you. You can explore the surrounding area, just be sure to watch the tide!
Dalton took Lacy on their first “real date” in Savannah, GA. It’s a short drive from Port Royal with so many things to do! Check out all the history, explore the many cemeteries, or visit all the shops along the Savannah River.
This is a fun nature trail Dalton and Lacy walked many times. Enjoy all the wildlife, but stay on the path because there might be an alligator or two! It's right in the middle of town so you can grab a bite to eat or check out the local shops and museum.
The first time Lacy visited Jessica in Port Royal this was their first stop. It's best at sunset, but fun anytime of the day. Be ready to climb some stairs to the top and keep your eyes peeled for jumping dolphins.
Dalton and Lacy frequented downtown Beaufort during all of Lacy's visits. There are so many cute stores to explore, restaurants, ice cream shops, and coffee shops. Don't miss out on Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park right off of downtown. There is a playground for the kiddos, swings right off the water, and you can see lots of boats sail by.
We ate here during wedding planning and were very impressed! It’s a little on the pricey side but we’ll worth it. Some of our favorites include Tuna Tartar (Dalton obviously), Buttermilk Fried Chicken (Lacy), and Potato Gnocchi. They have an impressive wine menu as well as delicious cocktails.
