Why are we having the celebration in California?

Answer

Many of you know that Amanda's family is from California, namely Morgan Hill. We have still have lots of family and friends in the beautiful Central Coast of California. Dallin served his LDS mission in the Oakland, California mission. We love the idea of getting sealed in the Temple where we both have ties to and would love for those of you who have yet to see this beautiful coast to come join us for some fun!

Where's the closest airport?

Answer

There is a small airport right in Monterey just minutes from our reception venue but most people generally fly into the Mintet San Jose International Airport and then book a rental car and drive about a little over an hour to Monterey. The other two familiar airports are San Francisco and Oakland International Airports but unless you are one of the few that can attend the temple sealing too (as their is limited capacity), you're looking at about 80 miles from either of those to Monterey.

What should I pack?

Answer

That of course depends on how long you'll be here and what extra fun things you will want to plan but one this is for sure......bring layers! Central Coast is cooler than Southern California, particularly at night. A light sweater or sweatshirt is always handy. We just wanted to make sure you don't pack all your Hawaiian shirts and shorts then learn that this is more of your very coastal breeze vibe of weather. We do plan to have a hangout on the coast for our reception in the evening with bonfires and s'mores right after dining to dinner and cutting the cake so please do join us for that!
