FAQs

Question

Whats the plan with masks, social distancing, and other guidelines?

Answer

We have committed to respecting all guidelines and restrictions throughout the replanning process. All venues and vendors are onboard and ready to party! Currently, the only place that will continue requiring masks post June 15th is the church, but you may self-select to wear one at the reception if that makes you feel more comfortable. Green Gables will encourage guests to practice (respectful) social distancing at the bars and food stations during cocktail hour. Things may change in the days leading up to the wedding, and we will keep you informed.

Question

What time should I arrive at the church?

Answer

Mass starts at 3pm, so we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to park, grab a seat and say hi to family and friends!

Question

How long will mass be?

Answer

Don't believe the rumors! Our priest confirmed that it will be an hour start to finish.

Question

How long will it take to get from the church to Green Gables for the reception?

Answer

It is about a 20 minute drive. Cocktails start at 5pm, so you will have plenty of time before the drinks start flowing!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We look forward to snapping a picture with you in your favorite cocktail attire! The ceremony will be in a church and the reception is at an indoor/outdoor venue. We will have lawn games, so if you plan on dominating at bean bag toss, be aware that you will be on grass. You may also want to consider a light jacket or sweater for if it gets chilly at night.

Question

The Invitation says "Adults Only;" what do you mean?

Answer

We both come from large families, which means a lot of kids. While we love all our family and friend's children, we want to enjoy your company and have you enjoy the celebration. We ask that you make arrangements for your children and enjoy an adults only event!

Question

What will parking be like?

Answer

There will be plenty of parking at both the church and reception venue. We HIGHLY encourage you to take an Uber or Lyft to and from the reception venue. If you drive to the reception and decide to Uber or Lyft home, the venue will allow you to leave your car overnight, but it will be unattended and you have to pick it up by 11am or the tow trucks are coming... yikes! We want you to have fun and enjoy the bar, so safety is our #1 priority. We recommend dropping your car off at your hotel after the ceremony and taking an Uber or Lyft to the reception! If you are staying at the Lakehouse Hotel, Dan and I have arranged for a shuttle to drive guests to the hotel from 9-11pm.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

There are so many options in the San Diego area! Our ceremony and reception are about 45 minutes north of the San Diego airport, so we recommend you utilize the hotel options we provided. There are also numerous AirBnB or VRBO rentals in the North San Diego County area, which we highly recommend, especially if you are traveling with your families and want to enjoy a San Diego vacation!
