Dan and Allie matched on Coffee Meets Bagel; a dating site for people who are actual functioning adults. Allie was just out of a 3-year relationship and had declared it the "Summer of Allie;" then she met Dan. Their first date was at Karl Strauss Brewing Co. where they talked about all the things you are supposed to avoid on a first date: politics, religion, exes, and crazy families! They took it slow and made it official a couple of months later. Within the first few weeks, they both knew that this was "it," and Dan told his uncle, "I am probably going to marry this one."

When Allie and Dan first met, they immediately bonded over their common love for travel. The moment they began dating they started planning adventures, including trips to Mexico, Las Vegas, Boston, and Chicago, all to be capped off with a trip to Ireland in March of 2019. Dan decided that this was where he wanted the next chapter of their story to be written. After sightseeing in Dublin, touring Galway and Sligo, and embracing the Cliffs of Moher, they were off to County Donegal. After spending the night in Bundoran, Allie and Dan set out to Donegal Town, where the Castle that bears the O’Donnell namesake stands. It was here, on the morning of April 4th at 10:05 AM, with a break in the clouds, and the sunshine filling the courtyard, that Dan got down on one knee and asked Allie to spend the rest of their lives together… and she responded with, “Uh, sure!”
