Flight
The Madison airport (MSN) will definitely be the most convenient option, but is also likely to be more expensive. If you do fly in, you can take public transport, cab, or a rideshare to downtown and avoid getting a rental car--you won't need one to get to anything we have going on! Note: Madison is a regional airport, not a major hub. That means that if you're flying there, you'll almost certainly have a connecting flight unless you're flying directly from a major American city (New York, San Francisco, Denver, etc.) The major airlines that fly to MSN are Delta, United, and American. As nearly anyone who travels through MSN can tell you, Delta flights through Detroit and Minneapolis are BY FAR the most reliable for on-time departure and arrival.
Flight
Chicago O'Hare (ORD) is probably going to be the cheapest flight option, especially for anyone flying internationally. ORD is a hub for United Airlines (Star Alliance) and hosts a number of SAS flights (Skyteam/Delta partnership.) Security at ORD is hit or miss for timing, so please plan ahead to give yourself 3 hours at the airport on your return flight if you're travelling through ORD. For Danish travelers: SAS has a direct flights to/from ORD. Note: if you're flying to or from O'Hare, we STRONGLY recommend flying direct if possible.
Train
Amtrak can be a great (and cheaper) way to get to the Midwest! If you're looking to take the train, your easiest route would be to go to Union Station in Chicago and then either rent a car (there's an Avis only a few blocks away) or take the bus to Madison!
