The Koenig Home is 4.1 miles from Telluride, or 10 minutes by car. The welcome event has been moved from the Daley Home to Oak in downtown Telluride. See the scheduling page for further details.
The town of Telluride sits at 8,754' and the elevation difference can be quite noticeable. We encourage people to drink more water than they are used to and to take it easy the first day. In addition to this, over-the-counter supplemental oxygen (Boost Oxygen) can be purchased at the local grocery stores, markets, and shops if need be. If you are consuming alcohol, be mindful that elevation can cause more pronounced effects due to decreased oxygen levels and dehydration. In short, drink plenty of water and keep your body moving!
Yes, a car will be necessary to not only get to the town of Telluride, but also to attend the wedding itself. The top map on this page (if the image is too small, right click on the image and select "Open image in new tab") shows where the Daley and Koenig home's are located with respect to the town of Telluride. We encourage communication with other groups that you know may be attending in order to plan shared vehicle rentals.
The venue has new floors we do not want to damage. Please do not wear shoes with hard soles or heels. Flats, wedges, espadrilles, loafers, and other soft-soled shoes are okay! Otherwise, you may be told to remove your shoes. To note: the venue is indoor-outdoor.
June in Telluride is typically sunny and clear, but there is always the chance of rain (or even snow!) in early June. We recommend you pack the appropriate layers to accommodate chilly temps and protect from precipitation.
If you are staying in a rental house or a place with a kitchenette and would like to cook meals at home, we recommend making a grocery run BEFORE you get to town. While Telluride has two grocery stores (Clark's Market and Village Market), they are considerably pricey compared to City Market in Montrose, CO.
For the Welcome Party, the town of Telluride has paid street parking as well as some 2hr parking on streets further away from Colorado Ave. There is also a free parking lot called Carhenge on the West end of town. For the wedding, parking will be along the roadside near the venue.
