Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Rachel Anne Wood and Robert Dale Armstrong IV
We are so excited to share this very special place with you! As most of you know, our family has been traveling to this island for 50+ years, and we have been doing ministry here for the past 14 years! You are welcome to join us for any planned daytime activities on Friday, just relax on the beach or do your own thing! Saturday, while we are getting ready for our big day, feel free to plan outings, play pickleball, volleyball or just enjoy the beautiful beach! See below for a list of things to do. Many of the activities require pre-booking. Just a reminder that the community is VERY small. There really is not much in terms of shops or restaurants in Treasure Cay.

Austin Serving Abaco

This is our non-profit that many of you have heard about for a long time. If you will be on the island early or staying later and would like to see the community and meet the kids we serve – reach out to Dena – wooddenad@gmail.com and this can be arranged.

Fly Fishing

If you are interested in booking a day to Fly Fish contact Jake Wood 512-925-2366 and he will connect you with a guide.

1/2 Day Boat Tours

Tours can include shelling, snorkeling, swimming pigs, swimming with and feeding stingrays and sea turtles, spear fishing, traditional fishing and island hopping to Green Turtle or surrounding islands or scuba diving. • Contact Tanique Brutus – taniquepb@gmail.com or 242-577-4436

Scuba Diving

Paddle Board / Kayak

This can be done off of the beach at the Bahama Beach Club, Boards and Kayaks are provided free of charge. You can also contact Tanique for kayak tours. 242-577-4436

Swimming

Bring goggles if you are a swimmer – there is a beautiful 5-mile beach that is usually flat and very safe to swim. The Bahama Beach Club also has a nice pool and a hot tub.

Snorkeling (off beach and on the reef)

There is a beautiful reef just a short boat ride away (see tours above and contact Tanique for booking) and there is also a small island that you can wade/swim to that has nice snorkeling off of the rocks at the back. See Map

Shells/Sand Dollars

Sometimes you will get lucky with some nice shells walking along the beach, you can also borrow snorkels and masks from the Bahama Beach Club if you want to swim around and look for sand dollars – especially at low tide off of the sand bar that is a very short walk up the beach. See map for Sand Bar where you often find sand dollars.

Beach Walks/Runs

The 5-mile beach is perfect for walks or runs any time of day

Biking

Bikes can be rented through the Bahama Beach Club. It is a fun way to see the local community.

Pickle Ball

We will have information about when the group will have some organized games, but feel free to hop on the courts at any time (they are pretty rough as the locals turned the old tennis courts that survived the storm into Pickleball courts!) Just be sure to bring paddles and balls. We will try to leave some at the front desk of the BBC as well.

Green Turtle Ferry

If you don’t want to book a tour but would like to see another island, a visit to Green Turtle Cay is perfect. There are many options for lunch and souvenirs. Book a taxi to the Ferry dock, and then it’s a quick 10-15 minute ferry ride right into the Green Turtle Cay marina. To book a taxi you can message Pastor Jensonn on WhatsApp – 242-577-6727. Or ask the front desk at the BBC. If you search Green Turtle Ferry Schedule online it will come right up!

Nippers

If you are staying until Monday, Nippers is a very popular bar/restaurant to visit on Guana Cay for Sunday lunch. There is live music, and a nice beach but it is definitely ROWDY.

Hope Town / Light House

If you are looking for something a little more low key, you can catch the ferry to Hope Town for Sunday brunch at the historic light house. If you search Hope Town Ferry, the schedule will come up – you will need to get a taxi to the Ferry Dock.
