Our wedding will look different than we originally planned. We are proceeding, with much-reduced attendance, mainly just family and the wedding party. We will be providing masks to wear for those that don’t have them. To make sure we keep all of our guests and vendors safe we will be REQUIRING the following: -Sanitizing hands before touching any serving utensils and regularly throughout the night -Wearing a mask when walking around the tent and where social distancing cannot he maintained, especially around the food Having COVID cases be tracked back to this day would really put a damper on things, and we don’t want anyone to get sick!
Yes. We’ve unfortunately had to downsize our guest list a sizable amount to ensure we can still proceed with the wedding safely. While we’re not canceling the wedding, we are encouraging everyone to keep their health and safety a priority and to stay home if you are feeling uncomfortable with attending the wedding or the travel it entails. We still love you, no matter what you decide!
The short answer is a resounding YES!! In keeping with the goth glam theme we're going for, we are asking that our guests don gothic, yet sophisticated (semi-formal) dress. This may mean dressing up in costume [some ideas: vampire, plague doctor, Jareth, Victorian steampunk, Beetlejuice, characters from Tim Burton films, Frankenstein's monster, anything Edgar Allan Poe-inspired, black and white comic book character, masquerade] or for those looking to take a less-adventurous approach, dark colors like black, plum or scarlet in fabrics like lace, jacquard or velvet. If you are planning on wearing slacks, please wear black. When in doubt, an all-black outfit is a perfect choice. *PLEASE, NO COSTUMES THAT MIGHT DETRACT FROM THE AESTHETIC, LIKE INFLATABLES OR ANYTHING CARTOONISH* Keep it classy!
We need a final headcount by September 30 at the latest BUT PLEASE RSVP AS SOON AS YOU KNOW WHETHER YOU’RE COMING. If you don’t, your RSVP will be selected as “no” and there won’t be space for you. This will allow us to finalize our order with the caterers and make sure we have enough alcohol for everyone! Just head to the RSVP tab on this site and type in your name. From there, you can let us know if you'll be able to join us, submit your song request, favorite candy and any dietary restrictions we should know about. Can't wait to see you!
We are restricting the guest list to those listed on your RSVP. We would love to have been able to invite everyone, but we had to keep the number reasonable. We hope you understand!
We are limiting children to only relatives. This party will definitely be geared toward grown-ups and we want the adults to be able to enjoy themselves without having to watch little ones. Please check your RSVP if you're not sure.
Please please on arriving no later than 4:15pm. There will be drinks to welcome our guests and provide time for everyone to get seated before the ceremony.
Our neighbors across the way have graciously offered up their front yard for us to park our guests in. The lot will be marked so that you won't be able to miss it! We are currently looking into arranging a hotel shuttle, so stay tuned for updates.
We have a few party tents that will be equipped WITH HEATERS. In case the weather does not cooperate - the weather here in VA is unpredictable in October - and we have rain in the forecast, we will have the ceremony in one tent and reception in the other. Otherwise, the ceremony will be open air. Please dress for the possibility of chilly weather by bringing a warm coat. We will have plenty of space to stash your layers in case you don't need them. Better to have them and not need them, than need them and not have them! The ground will be serving as the floor, so you might want to avoid stilettos or any other type of shoe that might pierce the ground and get stuck.
We have a dedicated wedding email - hallowedding2020@outlook.com - and check it often. If you need to ask us anything leading up to the wedding, please just shoot us an email there.
