Located on the stunning Playa del Carmen beach, the Riu Playacar has a good mix of pools and bars.  

A 10-minute taxi ride gets you to the bars, clubs and shops along Playa del Carmen’s famous 5th Avenue.

The pool scene is made up of three pools, one with an adults-only swim-up bar. Kids get their own shallower pool, too. Around the hotel there’s a choice of four restaurants, with the main buffet place backed up by a grill place, and Asian and Italian à la cartes.

The Riu Playacar Hotel is located in a complex shared with the Riu Yucatan, the Riu Tequila, and the Riu Palace. You are able to use all of the facilities (pool, bars, activities etc) as well as have lunch at the Riu Yucatan and Riu Tequila, however breakfast and dinner must be eaten in the Riu Playacar if this is where you have booked.

On Thursdays there is a Coconut Beach Party at the Riu Playacar and on alternate friday's, there is a White Party or Neon Party held at the Riu Tequila.
