Just 30 minutes from our home is the Washington, NC waterfront—affectionately known as “Little Washington.” It's a must-visit destination known for its old-fashioned hospitality and small-town charm. You can stroll along the beautiful waterfront and admire the spectacular boats, or take a leisurely walk down Main Street, browsing local boutiques and enjoying delicious bites at cozy, locally owned restaurants. It’s the perfect spot to relax and soak in the charm of Eastern North Carolina!
Pitt Street Brewing Company On the Pamlico
Want to try tons of local beers while taking in immaculate views? Lucky you—we know just the place! Pitt Street Brewing Company is a favorite hangout spot where you can kick back, enjoy great conversation, and sample a wide variety of craft beers. With something on tap for every kind of beer lover, their selection ranges from light and refreshing to bold and hoppy. Plus, the relaxed atmosphere and scenic views make it the perfect place to unwind and soak up some local flavor.
East Carolina University
The East Carolina University campus is not only beautiful, but also very walkable and worth exploring during your visit. Take a stroll down the West End to see where I lived during my freshman year, and maybe even pass by the library—where Thomas and I spent more hours than I’d like to admit! As you drive into Greenville, you’ll notice ECU’s campus on your left. If you have a little extra time before heading out of town, we definitely recommend a quick drive-through to take in the charm and energy of Pirate Nation!

ECU royalty—Sup Dogs. It might actually be considered a crime to visit ECU and not try one of their famous hot dogs! Sup Dogs truly captures the spirit of the “ECU lifestyle” with its laid-back vibe, lively atmosphere, and seriously delicious food. From hot dogs and burgers to their legendary Sup Crushes, there’s something on the menu for everyone. Whether you sit inside or outside, you’re guaranteed a fun time and a taste of what makes this spot a beloved staple for students, alumni, and visitors alike.

With over 75 years and three generations of our Italian family tradition in baking and cooking, Nino’s truly knows how to do pasta right! This local gem is a must-try while you're in town—a place where classic Italian flavors meet warm, welcoming hospitality. The beautiful atmosphere paired with exquisite dishes guarantees you'll leave full and happy. My personal favorite is the Chicken Marsala, while Thomas swears by the Chicken Alfredo. No matter what you choose, you really can’t go wrong at Nino’s!
