Kanawha State Forest
Where we first met on the hike, a huge forest with many walking and hiking spots.
Chief Logan State Park
Another very nice forest with a lake for fishing and walking
Kroger
This is probably the closest grocery store to the hotels in the area, the equivalent of a stater bros pretty much.
Kanawha Falls
Where the locks and dams are that house the sturgeon and paddlefish of West Virgina. This is on the way to New River Gorge and is beautiful
New River Gorge National Park & Preserve
Beautiful National Park, Fayetteville is also a cute little town with a couple of places to eat and shop
Capitol Market
A place to get local goods and items. In May they have their famers market going on with a lot of local farms that sell the produce they grow. My personal favorite are the cherry tomatoes and peaches. There is a chocolate shop inside called Holls that sells bourbon caramels that are my favorite
GoMart Ballpark
Where the local Baseball team plays, The DirtyBirds! I definitely recommend sitting in the toastman section behind home plate.
Bridge Road
This street has a lot of really cute local shops. There is an ice cream shop, tea shop, a little deli a bakery and a fine dining restaurant named 1010.
Huntington Mall
Our best mall in the area, has a dave and busters inside of it and all the usual stores. Spencers, Hot Topic, American Eagle, Macys, JCPenny
Capitol Gold Dome
Yes, the dome is real gold. Inside is all marble, sometimes birds will get stuck inside the dome, but they find their way out eventually. Be prepared to go through a security checkpoint with a bag scanner if you go
